Junior News

And we’re back again for another great term! Hopefully you have enjoyed your family time and are feeling relaxed and refreshed. It will be another great term full of exciting events and learning experiences. Starting off this term, students will be completing activities to engage in NAIDOC week, which was nationally celebrated over the school holidays. The Junior teachers have been busy planning the new topics for the term, in Literacy students will be learning about different types of informative texts, starting with Procedures.

In Maths, we will revisit and expand our knowledge of Addition and start a new Measurement and Geometry topic of Mass.

This term, our Inquiry lessons will focus on Science. Juniors students will cover lessons and experiments about Earth and Space Sciences and Biological Sciences. We will also take time in the term to enjoy and learn about the Commonwealth Games. Our final learning area of Religion will encompass an inquiry investigation about Jesus’ Life and Mission as we unpack and discuss the focus statement of ‘We must love one another.’

Middle/Senior News

Welcome back to Term Three.

We trust you have all enjoyed the break and are ready to get stuck into it again. The senior teachers have been busy preparing lots of wonderful learning experiences behind the scenes and we can’t wait to share them with our students!

This week we celebrate NAIDOC Week with this year’s theme ‘Get up! Stand up! Show up!” which really encourages us all to take action. It also ties in nicely with our new Religion Inquiry topic which is all about the life and mission of Jesus. Throughout this term we will also participate in inquiry learning about The Commonwealth Games, Design and Technology,

In English, our focus will be on Information Texts, we will also be writing and presenting speeches for the Lion’s Club inter-school competition and enjoying year level novel studies. In Maths, we will begin the term exploring money and place value, as well as introducing the topic of Angles.
