Fairfield Public School Newsletter Smore #44

Wednesday 6 March 2019

From the Principal

In this edition of the newsletter we discuss Skoolbag, upcoming excursions, costings, sport and our Family Welcome Night just to name a few.

Excursions

All excursions this year will be subsidised by the school, parents will be asked to pay for the entry costs to venues and the school will pay the cost of the buses for most events.  The only exception to this is Stage 3 Camp.

Excursion notes will have the audio link at the bottom.  Please be aware of the closing dates of all excursions. There are often limited places and we do not want students to miss out.

If you need any further help with excursions please see Mrs Payne at the front office.

Possum Magic is full.

Student Leadership Team

On Monday 18 February the 2019 Student Leadership team were inducted into their roles.    Mr Charles Borg, Principal Fairfield High School, presented the badges of office to the students at a formal assembly in front of the school and community.

I look forward to working closely with the team throughout the year as they represent the school.  I know they will do a fantastic job.

Onel Qaqos

Emily Wang

I met with the student leadership team in Week 3 where the student leadership team raised a range of items from bullying, safety in the playground, swearing by students, PBL merits, how students could do a better job in classrooms with a casual teacher just to name a few.  I was very impressed with their understanding and concern for their fellow students.  We also talked about the types of jobs they might be expected to engage in during the year.

Our school captains and prefects participated in the first session of the leadership program on Wednesday, 13th of February. It is a 6 week program that teaches about presentation skills, responsibility, organisation and teamwork. Onel and Emily are presenting what they found out about each other to the group.

If you do not have SeeSaw you download the free app for Android devices here and iOS devices here.
