I was excited to return to our beautiful little school after a refreshing break. This promises to be an excellent year, filled with great learning and student achievement. And I haven’t been disappointed! Classes are already working hard and producing some great work.
This year we will be really aiming to give our students an ‘academic push’, making the most of the smaller class sizes achieved this year by using allocated and rolled over funding. We strongly encourage you to work with your children and their teachers to set high expectations of achievement this year.
As always, this will be a busy year.
Coming up: Meet the teacher BBQ. Friday at 1:10pm, weather permitting. We hope to see you there. This will be followed by our first assembly at 2pm.
In Week 3, all children will meet one-on-one with teachers to conduct the Mathematics Assessment Interview. This will provide teachers with very valuable information about our students mathematical knowledge and future learning focuses.
In Week 4 we will hold the parent / teacher interviews. This is early in the year, so teachers will have basic information on your child’s achievement at this stage. The aim of these meetings is for parents to share information about your child to support our teachers and open communication lines. Notes have gone home today.
On the last day of term we will be holding our Easter Hat Parade. We look forward to seeing what great hats our families have created for that special day.
