TIDINGS - Term 2 Week 2 . 2020

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Hello again RCC Community,

Thousands of years ago the apostle Paul, in one of his letters, sought to remind the people of Corinth that in difficult times it is so important to comfort and encourage one another. At the end of my last update I encouraged us to continue to support one another even when we are tired and in uncertain times. It is humbling to be a part of a community that does so well with this.

Paul, however, goes one step further and reminds people that to truly encourage and comfort one another when times are hard and we are exhausted, we have to rely on God’s ability through us to be able to do it. He says:

 “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”

2 Corinthians 1:3&4

This week in Tidings the staff at RCC wanted to share some words from the Bible that comfort them in tough times that may help you draw on God’s strength at this time to continue to love others and yourself.

I trust they will be an inspiration and joy to you as you read them. For me, it is nice to see how each scripture that is shared speaks to the heart of each individual, reminding us that God is a personal God who cares specifically for us and meets us where we are.
