DSM Program

Earlier in the week the Largs Bay Defence students were invited to help plant out the Memorial Laneway Gardens at the Largs Bay RSL.

For a lot of our students this was the first time gardening and it turns out we have quiet a few green thumbs!

Thankfully the weather was kind and the kids had a great time planting out the gardens. They also got to spend some time with the Seagulls, learning the game of indoor bowls.

Bunnings very kindly provided the beautiful plants and gardening equipment and with their generous assistance the children planted olive trees, rosemary, bird of paradise and magnolias just to name a few.

Not only were we treated to a delicious lunch with RSL members; we were also able to join in the Seagulls birthday celebrations with Kai helping to cut the cake.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank RSL President Peter Cates, Community Liaison Officer Joanna Grotto and all the fantastic members of the Largs Bay RSL for including our Defence students in this project. We hope that this will be the beginning of a great community relationship and we look forward to the next opportunity.

This term we will sadly be farewelling three of our Defence students, Hunter, Summer and Piper. On behalf of the DSM group I would like to wish them and their family all the best for their future endeavours.
