From the Principal

It has been a Term of much activity and achievement, with some challenges along the way. The finish line is in sight. We can thank God for His blessings during Semester One. There have been some sad events experienced by families within the OLSH Community, in which we have shared in the sorrow and grieving. We continue to pray for healing, protection, safety and good health for all members of the OLSH Family.

Awards have been presented during the week for students in P – 12. These acknowledge those students who have applied themselves to their studies and school life. It is a way for the School to celebrate those efforts. Congratulations and well done to those students who have received awards.

Semester One Reports are to be sent home on Friday. Semester One reporting is a report on Formative Assessment. This is a progress report on learning to date. It provides feedback to students and their caregivers on achievement at the half way point. By reflecting on Grade, Effort, Application and Comments it is anticipated that students are better placed to come back for the second half (Semester Two) ready to consolidate and continue to improve on learning and undertaking assessment tasks. This should place students in a better place and assist in achieving an improved Summative Assessment report at the end of the year.

I trust that all have a restful and refreshing break over the next two weeks and I look forward to the adventures of Term three and Semester two.

Best regards,

Mr. Geoff Jackson
