Wingham Public School Bulletin

Term 4 Week 8

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Yesterday parents, students and staff listened to our future 2023 leaders' speeches. Mia Greenaway, Isabella Griffin, Chase Stewart, Josh Murray, Grace Seddon, Kye Welsh, Jacob Bendeich, Evie Stacey, Jessica Seddon, Arie Meldrum, Melia Ward and Alexis Skinner all spoke confidently about why they should be elected as our student leaders. Speaking to a large group is not easy for adults let alone for students and they all did a superb job. We are very proud of them and whether elected or not all 12 are excellent role models. Well done.  The school leaders will be announced during Presentation Day on the 9th of December.

The purpose of raising funds during the Colour Run held in Week 2 was to purchase new technology for our classrooms. As you can understand technology is reasonably expensive and to provide for 12 classrooms comes at quite a huge cost, however, with the funds raised we have been lucky enough to buy 42 new HP laptops and 8 charging stations. Thank you to our families and school community for your support in raising these vital funds. This will make a difference for students in the classroom and to teaching across all learning areas. Once again thank you.

YEAR 6 FUN DAY

On Friday 18th November, Wingham Public School held its annual Year 6 Fun Day. The day was fantastic, with the whole school enjoying different activities around the school.

Year 6 raised over $2000. Many thanks to the parents and families who assisted on the day and a special thank you to Bunnings and their wonderful staff who supplied the popcorn and fairy floss on the day.

Congratulations to the boys cricket team who travelled to Newcastle last week to play in the final of the Hunter PSSA Cricket competition. The boys plays extremely well displaying great skills with the bat and the ball. Unfortunately they went down to The Junction Public School. To make the final 16 schools in the state is a massive achievement and we are very proud of your efforts. Thank you to all the parents and carers who travelled and supported the students it is much appreciated. Well done boys!
