Kiss and Ride Safety
Please be conscious of road safety when using the Kiss and Ride Zone outside the school on Boundary Street each afternoon. Kiss and Ride Zones are designed for your convenience and for your child’s safety. Designed for quick entry and exit, these zones minimise congestion and risk when used properly by all parents and carers. These zones operate under the same conditions as no parking zones, which means:
- you may stop to drop off or pick up children for a maximum of 2 minutes.
- You're required to remain in, or within 3 metres of, your vehicle.
Please refrain from encouraging your child to run between cars to enter a vehicle parked on the road. Children should only enter vehicles that are parked against the kerbside in the designated zone.
Please wait patiently while the cue moves for kiss and ride. Refrain from veering onto the opposite side of the road to move around traffic as this can cause a serious accident if two vehicles hit head-to-head.
We want every member of our school community to be safe when travelling to and from school. Please work with us to ensure the rules are followed and personal safety is prioritised at all times.
Pedestrian Crossing Road Safety
Another reminder that with the newly finished crossing on Ocean St comes the responsibility for all adults to teach our children how to use the pedestrian crossing safely and effectively. Please think about the following when talking to your child about crossing the road:
- wait approximately 1 metre back from the road kerb
- stand steady and still while waiting to cross the road. Don’t play games or run around.
- Wait for the signal from the crossing guide to walk across the road.
- Walk safely across the road directly to the opposite side of the road. Don’t cut corners or veer off the crossing.
Thanks for supporting the message of road safety with your children.
Book Week
Congratulations to everyone on their fine efforts for the celebration of Bookweek 2022. From the door decorations to the costume parade, everyone has contributed to a wonderful celebration of literature. A big thank you to Mrs Dunne who has coordinated a magnificent event and to all the staff for their support of the activities for student engagement throughout this week. Many thanks to our parents and carers for your ongoing support of these unique learning opportunities for our students.
Holiday Wishes
Term 3 has been a massive term packed with many opportunities for our students to engage and participate as active learners in the school environment and beyond. We have celebrated our NAPLAN 2022 results and are proud of every student’s effort in the classroom in learning literacy and numeracy from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our students have engaged in quality sporting and extra curricular opportunities and have been lucky to attend excellent excursions, workshops, tournaments, competitions and camps. We wish all our Dudley PS families a safe and relaxing holiday period and look forward to welcoming our students back to school to begin Term 4 on Monday 10 October, 2022.
Take care,
Chad Tsakissiris
