All you need to know for back to school

Welcome back to 2020, this special edition of the newsletter is a point of reference for all the bits and pieces of information you may need to know as your child/ren prepare to return to school at the end of this month.

Maths Assessment Interview Bookings

Have you booked your child's maths assessment interview for 2020. This is an important part of our diocesan wide diagnostic assessment of student's numeracy knowledge and understanding at the start of each year. As it is an individual 30 minute interview for each child with a teacher, it is very difficult to catch up on once school commences. Please book a suitable time now for Wednesday 29 January using the link and enter the code ug5z5

Have your children got all their summer and sports uniforms ready for the new school year?

First week of trading for 2020 is:

Tuesday 28 January 12:00-2:00pm

Wednesday 29 January 9:00am-2:00pm

Thursday 30 January 8:30am-9:30am

St Anthony's weekly uniform shop opening hours are:

TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS 8:30-9:30am            WEDNESDAYS 2:15-3:00pm

Outside of these times, orders and payments can be placed in person through the front office if the size of the item is known.

Student OPAL cards - tap on in 2020

All school students catching a school/public bus service in 2020 are required to have a student OPAL card or a bus fare. 

School bus services are planned and provided based on the data about student use which OPAL card tapping on/off provides. 

Hillsbus has requested that schools seek the support of parents to improve the level of OPAL card usage so that school services can be maintained. There is a proposal to allow priority boarding for students with OPAL cards from 2020 to allow for more accurate data collection about each school's use of bus services. 

If your child will be catching a bus to or from St Anthony's as their mode of school transport, please ensure they have an OPAL card ready for the commencement of the year.

Relocating or changing schools in 2020? Let us know

We need to be informed if your child/children will NOT be returning to school at St Anthony’s in the 2020 school year. Could you please provide WRITTEN NOTICE to the school email immediately if your child will NOT be returning this year. We also have a waiting list in some grades for 2020 and could offer this place to another student.
