Monday 19 August 2019 Week 5 Term 3

From the Principal

Terrific Term Three

Halfway through Term Three already, our year is just zooming by! They say, 'time flies when you are having fun' and we are always having an amazing time at Eleebana Public School. With engaging high-quality classrooms and so many diverse opportunities for our students, it would be hard to beat the quality education that we offer here at your local school.

Enjoy our Endeavour newsletter and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students!

The Top Playground is Open!

Our top oval is finally open!

Our school community is celebrating today, our top oval is finally open and in full use. The transformation from the ugly dust-bowl into the beautiful versatile play area we have now is remarkable. With two marked fields, running tracks and landscaped gardens to prevent further erosion, the final product was well worth the wait!

Thanks go to our generous school community, who through our P&C and OOSH, have provided the funds for this fabulous school resource.

Uniform

Thank you to all those who took the time to complete our uniform survey. The results of this survey will be presented at P&C this evening and we will finalise the uniform change process that began back in 2016.

Wearing our school uniform promotes a sense of belonging for students and creates a positive identity for the school community. School uniforms also contribute to the personal safety of students by allowing easier recognition of students inside the school and in the community. We encourage all our students to wear their uniform with pride.

Spotlight and Production

Walking around our school at the moment you can see the excitement of Spotlight and Production in the air. Dancing, rehearsals, costumes and staging are well underway and we are counting down to the big show. Tickets will be available soon -don’t miss out!

Enrolling now for 2020

We are currently seeking enrolments for Kindergarten 2020 at Eleebana PS. Our Parent Information session will be held in the School Library on Wednesday 28th August at 6pm.

If you or anyone you know has a child, living in our school intake area, who will attend Kindergarten next year, please contact our Office for enrolment information.

Families should also be aware that the new Department of Education enrolment policy requires schools like Eleebana Public, that are above or near their buffer level (number of enrolment places available)  include a 100 point residential address check at enrolment.

  • Your responses are anonymous and only summarised results are used to help us better understand how to improve mental health and wellbeing in our learning community.
  • Although not every question may seem relevant to you, please answer each honestly and as best you can.The term learning community and learning environment refer to your child or young person’s early learning service or school.
  • If you have several children and/or young people attending the learning setting, please respond to questions from an overall perspective.
  • The survey is not compulsory and you can skip questions if you want to.
If you need more information about this survey before starting, please contact Mr May. We thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.

Visit to the Centre of Excellence

Eleebana Public school participated in an excursion to the NSW rugby league Centre of Excellence in Sydney with Floraville and Tanilba Bay. We had to get to Belmont oval before 8:15am. The bus left about 8:30am and got to Sydney around 10:15am. We went in the Centre of Excellence and Mark Hughes was our host.

Eleebana got to play where the NSW Blues trained. We started practising our ball work with Brad Fittler. We learned running, catching and passing while looking. Then we went to draw and pass or show and go a couple of times. We went to practice some kicks like grubbers, chips and bombs. We took off our muddy boots and visited the Blues shed, it was awesome. We got some tasty hot dogs for lunch. It was almost time to go but we had one more thing to do, walk through the tunnel to the ANZ stadium, we got to the stadium took some pictures and walked back.

We got on the bus to go home. It was an amazing day.
