Welcome back to an exciting year of learning at Blaxland Public School, we are looking forward to working alongside our community in continuing the learning journey for all students. Our student enrolment has increased this year to 153 students and we are continually growing. A warm welcome to our new students and their families, especially the kindergarten students who had their very first day of school today.
It was lovely to meet our new families this morning and we are happy to have you as part of our school community. Thank you to the hardworking P&C for providing a morning coffee catch up opportunity, I know that our new families really appreciated the chance to meet each other.

School Swimming Carnival
We held our school swimming carnival on Wednesday 1st February at Glenbrook Pool. Thank you to everyone for your quick response in returning permission notes and payment, it was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mr De Mattia, for your coordination of the event, the students participated with enthusiasm and enjoyed the opportunity to swim on a hot day. Thank you to the parents who assisted with time keeping on the day, your support was greatly appreciated. Thank you also in helping with the setting up and packing up of the school shelter structures, this is a big job and we were grateful for your help. Lastly, thank you Mrs Palmer, Ms Hinde, Mrs Maha, Mrs Imperiali and Mrs Willet for your support on the day!
NSW Back to School Vouchers
The Department of Education have now enabled schools to be a registered business for the back-to-school vouchers, these vouchers at school can be used for the purchase of uniforms and excursion payments in the future. Please come in and speak with the administration staff if you are interested in using the vouchers.
Sun Smart
We are a sun smart school and all students and staff will need to wear a school hat at all times when outside in the sun, including in the morning before school. If students do not have a school hat, there is a designated place where these students can play. In the morning before school, students without a hat will play on the verandah outside the library and during recess and lunch, students will play outside the hall. Let’s see if we can have 100% of students wearing a school hat.
