Be Safe - Be Responsible - Be Respectful - Be Your Best

Wednesday 24 June, 2020 - Week 9 - Term 2 - Issue 20

Principal's Report

P&C Executive

Last night we successfully held our P&C Annual General Meeting (AGM) via zoom and the outgoing executive were largely re-elected unchanged. The executive team are as follows:

            President: Karley Bailey

            Vice President: Siobhan Bailey

            Secretary: Kathryn Raymer

            Treasurer: Patricia Hennessy

We are so fortunate to have such a strong, student focused P&C and I look forward to continuing to work alongside this great team.

Social Distancing in Schools

Unfortunately, over the past week we are seeing a significant increase in the number of parents gathering in the school grounds. Whilst we normally love having families involved in our little school, I urge you to adhere to the Department of Education and Health requirements when picking up and dropping off children. At present most schools prohibit parent access to the school grounds, however, as a smaller school we have not yet gone down this route. Instead we have asked parents to restrict visits where possible and requested a swift drop off if you do need to enter the school, rather than congregating for social purposes. Whilst dropping your child at the gate may be tough for some parents, this is an excellent opportunity to help your child develop some independence in a supportive environment.

Please be mindful of the safety measures in place so we can avoid having to move to the unfortunate position of having no parent access to the school during this difficult time.

Voluntary Contributions

At last night’s P&C AGM, it was unanimously decided that voluntary contributions are to remain unchanged this year at $35 per child or $60 per family. However, due to COVID-19 the school will not be sending out envelope requests for these contributions. Whilst you are welcome to make a contribution, I believe at this time the money could be better used in household budgets and spent by families.

Have a great week,

A second reminder note was sent home today (yellow paper) to all students to have overdue books. Please return these books to the library before the end of term.

Please encourage your child/children to return their books each week and borrow some new ones, so the books are available for all students to borrow.

A big thank you to the students who borrow and return their books each and every week!

Online Uniform Shop

This is a reminder to parents that we are still transitioning to the online ordering system through ‘School Locker’ for school uniforms. This process has taken a little longer than expected, but once operational, we expect the service will be a convenient method for our families to purchase their uniforms. If you would like to purchase uniforms during this transition period, please call Sandra at ‘School Locker’ on 0404 667 065.  We will let you know when we go live!

For your convenience we have attached a link below with details of how to set up your own account with School Locker and also a link to the Uniform Price List.

Our school's Sun Safety policy requires students to wear their hat each day. Therefore, for the convenience of our families, school hats are available for sale for $10 from the school office as well as through the Online Uniform Shop.

Second-Hand Uniform Pool

The second-hand uniform pool is temporarily available by appointment only. If you have any enquiries or would like to purchase from the second hand uniform pool, please contact Siobhan on 0410 344 791.

We are still seeking donations for our second-hand clothing pool, so if you have any uniforms at home that your child has outgrown, please drop them off at school. All donations are much appreciated.

Thanks
