Dear Parents & Community Members,

Welcome back to the new school year – with a special welcome to those families joining our school community for the first time.  Our school commenced the new year with just over 400 children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

We are extremely fortunate that our staff remains consistent for 2023 and this impacts favourably on the success of our plans and goals this year.  That said, we do welcome back to school Mrs Richards following maternity leave.

Important Information

1:1 Technology Program

Welcome to an exciting new school year!

As many of you are aware Glengarry Primary School has a 1:1 Technology Program for students in Year 4 and 5, and any other students that are in a multi-age class with Year 4 or 5 students.

Attached to this notice is an updated 1:1 Technology Timeline, as well as information about device set up and an update iPledge form.

Please note the following

  • Students in Year 3 and 4 are not required to bring their iPads to school until Tuesday Week 2, when Jamf will be installed. Students in Years 3 and 4 will begin their 1:1 Technology Program from Week 5.
  • Students in Year 5 are asked to bring their iPads to school from the beginning of the year if it has the school settings installed on the device. If your Year 5 child has a device that does not have school settings installed or it is a new device, they will need to have the iPad set up by the school integrator prior to using it in the classroom. The school integrator is at GPS every Tuesday.

Health and Hygiene

Is your child feeling unwell?

If your child is unwell with cold and flu symptoms, please keep them at home and consider checking in with your GP if symptoms don't resolve

Healthy WA also recommends seeking a COVID test for cold and flu symptoms.  See links below for more info.

DoE LINK

As directed by our guidelines, we will ask for your child to be collected if they are displaying cold symptoms such as a cough, runny nose, fever etc.

We have a student at school who is immunocompromised.  This means they can potentially become gravely ill even when contracting a common cold/virus.  Please be mindful of sending students to school when they are unwell, as they may spread their infection.  Please speak with your GP/health professional and see the information in the links above re: advice about keeping your child at home when unwell.
