Principal's Report

Hi Families,

It has been an extremely busy few weeks for our school community. Congratulations to our students who represented the Hume region at the State titles last week. To qualify to compete at State level you must be one of the best athletes in the State of Victoria. For our school to have had seven athletes qualify is a credit to our PE program and a credit to families. We are very proud of our athletes who as always represented our school with pride and passion. Congratulations to Tristan Fox, Eva Clydesdale, Ellie Konig, Harper Russell, Kinsley Wilkinson, Piper Kirkwood and Harper Smith.

During last term, two of our parents spent a significant amount of time writing an application to the Bendigo Bank to receive money towards the purchase of decodable texts. It is with a great deal of pleasure and gratitude that I announce Narelle Rademaker and Amy Jacobs were successful in their application. Narelle and Amy attended a Bendigo Bank presentation ceremony last week, along with Renee Kent, Jack Jacob and Alice Rademaker. The Bendigo bank presented Mansfield primary with a cheque of $3000, which will purchase many texts for the lower classes. We are incredibly grateful to have parents who are so passionate about seeking opportunities to increase our school resources.

Timbertop

Many thanks to the Timbertop fraternity who have kindly donated $1000 to support our outdoor/school to summit program. How lucky are we to have such wonderful community support

Working Bee

The turn up on Sunday was incredible. We were fortunate the weather did not let us down. A huge thank you to the parents who have attended a working bee this year (remember, we only ask that you attend one per year). We are incredibly grateful to the members of the Vineyard church who decided that their community service would be spent helping our school at the last working bee. In total, we had more than 100 people! We were able to achieve our ongoing goal of beautifying our school.

Retirement

Next year will see a change of leadership. I have decided to retire at the end of term 1. Mr Tom MacMunn will take over the reins as acting Principal from the beginning of the school year. I will spend first term on Long Service leave. The department will go through the process of appointing a Principal in late term 1 or early term 2. Carol Watts will continue in her role as acting Assistant Principal.

Enjoy your week.  Julie
