Principal's Message

Fun, fun, fun continues at CPS!

We kicked off last week with the P & C organised Lapathon! The weather was so kind, the helpers amazing and the children had the best ever time running copious amounts of laps around the oval! I did about 10….in my mind!  It was great having a whole school event that brought everyone together. Huge thanks to Shannon Ryan and the team for organising a super event! and of course to our wonderful

P & C!

This week we had STEAM week! Starting with the World of Maths incursion which is a pretty exciting interactive maths show where children get to apply their problem-solving skills. Mr J, Mrs Goodwin, STEAM Committee and the student STEAM team organised lots of fun and exciting activities for the children to get involved in. Top effort team!

Our Learning Journey is creeping up on us very fast. This year it is on

·         Tuesday 13 September (Week 9)

·         5.30 to 6.30 pm.

The Learning Journey provides students with an opportunity to share their learning experiences with their families and showcase the range of education opportunities CPS offers. It’s a celebration of learning at CPS. More detailed information will be provided soon through your child’s class Seesaw.

We are in the process of developing our proposed staffing and classes for 2023. If any family is not returning to CPS in 2023 (excluding year 6) could you please email me at Kim.Fraser@education.wa.edu.au as soon as possible. Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated as it helps with our forward planning.

2022 Lapathon

Last Friday we were absolutely blessed to have the sun shine through for the 2022 Lapathon! It was another fantastic event, so well planned and organised by our amazing P & C, where our students not only got to raise money for the school but have an awesome time while doing it!

2022 CPS STEAM Week

This week at CPS we celebrated another engaging National Science / CPS STEAM week with a whole host of events and activities! While this year’s National Science Week theme of ‘Glass – More than meets the eye’ was an interesting lens to explore our STEAM areas. This year there were not only activities for all ages but also was great to be able to incorporate Art, Maths and Engineering learning on top of our staple Science and Technology focus.

Congratulations to Imogen of year 5.

Way back in 2019, Imogen’s writing sample was chosen as an excellent example of student response, and sent to the Seven Steps Writing office in Victoria. This year it was chosen by Seven Steps as an exemplar to be published in the second edition Narrative Writing Manual resource for teachers. What a great achievement Imogen, well done!

Congratulations Shaun Gao from room 5
