On Friday 14th February we will be having a Mufti Day to raise money for the Bushfire Appeal.
The students are asked to bring a gold coin donation and wear Red, Orange or Yellow.
Welcome to the new school year at Holy Trinity. A very warm welcome to the new families joining our school community, I’m sure your time at Holy Trinity will be very rewarding. We welcome new teachers to Holy Trinity, Ms Karen Kelly and Miss Nikita Hubbard.
Next Tuesday 11th February we will have a Welcome to Kindergarten BBQ and disco. I am sure if you were able to attend this event when your child started school, you remember how much fun it was and how everyone became “one” through this experience. We wish our new Kindergarten children all the best as they commence their 7 years of catholic education at Holy Trinity.
To assist you in understanding how your child’ classroom operates, we invite you to attend the Parent Information open classroom at school on Wednesday 12th February from 3:20 pm to 5:00 pm. You are welcome anytime between 3:20 pm and 5:00 pm and can visit all the rooms. During your visit your child can show you around the room and you can have a 5-minute chat (no longer than 5 minutes) with the class teacher. You will be able to share your hopes for your child with the teacher and learn how you can work together in partnership to ensure your child has the best year of learning at Holy Trinity. Today you would have received your child's Learning Journey for Term 1.
Our theme for our school this year is, “Come as you are.” As a community we will be exploring ways we can reach out to the marginalised and vulnerable to support the call from Bishop Vincent and acknowledge our indigenous members of our community.
With the new Kindergarten children, we also welcome the following children to Holy Trinity.
Cathrin Haddad (Year 1), Karim Haddad (Year 2), Lars Alipio (Year 2), Aarash and Aadarash Adusumalli (Year 2), Yar Maluach (Year 2), Regan Ghimire (Year 3), Jeer Maluach (Year 3), Aliai (Lilly) Bol (Year 4), Manyang Bol (Year 5), Hany Akot (Year 5), Lucky Akot ( Year 5), About Maluach (Year 5), Sonny Lua (Year 6) and Aziz Jabeyra (Year 6)
Thank you for your cooperation with the Maths Assessment (MAI) conducted on the first two days of school. The teachers completed over 150 MAI’s over those days and have completed the reminding students during the week. The teachers have gained valuable information on your child’s mathematics ability and can now plan appropriate lessons and tasks to meet your child’s individual needs.
Coronavirus
We will keep you updated through the SkoolBag app about the latest information for students attending school who have travelled to China during the holidays. Please encourage your children to wash their hands carefully, use hand sanitisers and avoid contact, such as shaking hands.
Newsletters
The newsletters will be available every fortnight (Even School Weeks) for 2020 through the SkoolBag app. There will be no update in-between newsletter. Any urgent or important information will be sent to parents immediately by the skoolbag app.
Clothing Pool
We are always in need of second hand uniforms, especially at the beginning of the school year. If you have any items in good condition, can you drop them off to the school office.
Road Safety and Parking
Please be aware of our neighbours and ensure you are following the Road Rules for the safety of all the students. You are not permitted to park across or in driveways. Not adhering to the road rules may result in a fine and loss of demerit points.
It is also important to show your children a good example and always cross the road at the crossing. Children should use the car doors on the curb side of the road, not the driver's side.
Have you checked out the school Facebook page lately! We are constantly posting about the great things that are happening at HTG.
