Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Three weeks until the end of 2022!  Students finish up on Monday 19th December.

Thank you to Nicole Salmon, who covered me while I was in Nepal for 3 weeks of Long Service Leave, and to all the staff who stepped into leadership roles for this time.  I had a wonderful break; riding my bike, exploring a tiny part of an incredible country and meeting new people.

Our Grade 6s managed to fit in their School to Summit last week.  A huge thankyou to Jen Driessen, parent helpers and staff who supported the students in their journey from Apollo St to the summit of Mt Buller.  The students did a wonderful job and showed great resilience and support of each other.

Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

Reports will be sent home on Friday December 2nd.  We have made some changes to reports based on feedback from families, staff and students.  Parent Teacher Interviews will occur during Week 10 (5th – 9th December) and on Monday and Tuesday of Week 11 (12th and 13th December).  Families will be able to book a Parent Teacher Interview from this coming Tuesday, a reminder will be sent home on Monday.  A separate note will be sent today explaining the changes to reports.

Kinder Transition

Our 2023 Preps will have their 3rd transition sessions next week.  Their final transition will be on the 13th December where they will have some sessions with our specialist teachers and spend time with their 2022 classmates.

Staffing and Classes 2023

We are getting closer to finalising teachers for 2023.

Our whole school transition morning on December 15th will give students an opportunity to spend a morning in their new classroom with their new teacher.

Like always, please get in touch with us with any questions or concerns.  Call or email your classroom teacher, call the front office or email me tom.macmunn@education.vic.gov.au.

Have a great weekend.

Take Care,

Tom

Grade 2 Hike

Our Grade 2's had an exciting day hiking to the Plain Creek Walk to the waterfall. Despite the extreme changes in weather throughout the day, the Grade 2's showed perseverance and completed their last School to Summit (S2S) hike of 7km return. We walked through lots of mud and heavy rain, and saw many interesting things along the way. We enjoyed it very much and had lots of fun!

On Friday the Grade 2’s went on a hike. We walked from Carters Road to the waterfall. We saw a lizard and we walked over five bridges! Justin found two walking sticks and he gave me one yey!! Justin and I were soaked because of the rain. It was a fun, wet hike!!

On Friday 11th of November all of the Year 2’s went on a hike. We walked to a waterfall and had to walk through the rain on the way back. On the way to the waterfall we had to climb over and under branches and logs that had fallen down. Henry and I stood inside a tree trunk that had a hole in it. It was very mud on the hiking track. I got to be the tail of our groups line whilst we hiked. Miss Driessen got a leech on her leg. It was a very fun hike!!
