Dernancourt School R-7 Newsletter

Thursday 30th April, 2020

From the Leadership Team.

Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 2. It is looking very different to how we’d imagined at the end of Term 1.

As you would remember, our staff had four PFD in week 11 and  countless hours  were spent preparing for remote learning. During the holidays, in line with medical advice,  DfE, State and Federal Governments advised  that schools were to remain open (as they were in Term 1) and students safe to return to school in Term 2. As a result of this we have seen a steady increase in the number of families deciding to return to Learning at School.

We are continuing to work within the guidelines of DfE and our local Partnership schools. At the moment, this still means that only staff and students are allowed on school grounds. We have been pleased at how well our students have managed this change and appreciate your understanding.

Whatever the future may hold, the technology and systems we’ve put in place will benefit our children and young people for years to come. We'll keep you updated with any new information as we receive it.

Kind Regards

The Leadership Team.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

School photo day is on Friday 8th May, 2020.

Please take time to read the relevant information on the MSP payment envelopes and remember these helpful points:

* Don't seal envelopes inside each other - You can pay for all children in one envelope however each child needs to have their own envelope on photo day.

* Use the Shootkey on your envelope to order online!

* Family envelopes are available at the school office upon request.

* Please enclose correct money as no change is given - cash, cheques and money orders only. Credit card payments can only be made online.

Please feel free to visit our web site www.msp.com.au

For photo enquiries phone (08) 8132 1148 or

Email: enquiries.adl@msp.com.au

If your child is still learning at home, please contact the office to arrange access to their unique Shootkey. This will enable you to order their photos online. On photo day, staff will be available to meet students at the front of the school (to be arranged prior) and take them to have their photo taken. Only individual shots will be taken this year and these will be made into composite class photos.

Uniform Shop News - Term 2

Dear Parents,

With the weather becoming cooler, many of you may need to purchase winter uniforms for your children.  Our first recommendation is that you place your order online at https://www.jssportsonline.com.au/collections/dernancourt-r-7-school    You can now have your uniform delivered to your door for a fee of $10.  If you would prefer to collect your uniform, Michelle will contact you with the collections details.

If you need to come in to check your children's sizes, please book a time on schoolinterviews and use the code ebnam.  Upon arrival for your 15 minute appointment you will need to phone Michelle on 0409957815 and she will take you to the Uniform Shop. Access to the uniform shop will be by appointment only.   If you have your child/ren with you for sizing we ask that you remain mindful of social distancing recommendations.

Payment is via card only.

Naming of Items

Please ensure all items of clothing, school bags, library bags, lunch boxes and drink bottles are clearly named. Items that are named are able to be returned to their owners when they are found.  Items that don't have names are not able to be returned to their rightful owner and are put in the lost property cupboard.

Contact Details

We would like to ensure that all members of our community are kept up to date with the changes and ask again that you ensure we have your current email and phone numbers in the event that we need to contact you. This can be done via our Skoolbag app.
