Wyong Student Environment Group
The Wyong Student Environment Group now meets three times a week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We continue to identify the variety of birds visiting our school and the places that attract birds. The Plover or Masked Lapwing, Noisy Miner and Rainbow Lorikeet are the most common visitors in break times. We have once spotted a Blue-Faced Honeyeater on a Gymea lily.
The photographs show the Plover pair who had a nest on the oval. The chicks hatched this week and 3 chicks were seen on Thursday. Sadly only 2 remain today. We had a barrier up that protected the nest and now it protects a safe place for the Plover family.

Touch Footy
The Open Boys and Girls Touch Football Teams played a Gala Day at Berkley Vale last Thursday 4th of August. Both teams played 2 games against neighbouring schools, but unfortunately, we lost both games by small margins. I put this down to the massive amount of rain we have experienced this year, that has turned our playground into a swamp, making it impossible to train and play on. Never the less, it was great just to be able to compete and the players from all teams had an awesome day. Mr McGuinness and Mrs Freers are both very proud of the effort and the fair play displayed by all our Wyong Public School players.
Education Week
Last week we celebrated Education Week by show casing our talents in all areas of learning. We
thank Village Central Wyong and Westfield Tuggerah for their community support by exhibiting our
student work samples. They looked fantastic and we are beaming with pride!
On the Wednesday, our Key Choir, Koori Choir and Strings Duo performed at Village Central Wyong.
They sang beautifully and displayed exemplary behaviour by showing respect, responsibility and
excellence through the entirety of the day.
A big thank you to Mrs Pass, Miss Scotton and Mrs Bundy for the supervision of this event.
