Principal's Message

Dear Families,

I hope you had a great break over the Easter holidays.

ANZAC Day and Lone Pine Planting Ceremonies

Thank you to our school captains who laid a wreath as part of the ANZAC service in Mansfield on Tuesday.  Our captains also planted a lone pine on behalf of Mansfield Primary School at the Mansfield Botanic Park.  This pine is a direct descendent of the Lone Pine Tree at Gallipoli which is used to commemorate those who served in World War One.  The tree will be accompanied by a plaque placed in the Botanic Park.

Cross Country

Well done to our Grade 3 to 6 students and teachers who dodged the rain, followed an adjusted route and successfully completed the school cross country yesterday.  A huge thank you to Jen Driessen and staff who supported the kids.  District Cross Country is coming up on the 12th May.

Energy Drinks

A reminder that energy drinks, hydration drinks, soft drinks and cordial are not to be brought to school.  I am not across the area of social media marketing but it seems that “Prime” has been promoted as a cool thing for kids.  The Prime Hydration drink has a warning on the label that it is not suitable for children under 15 years of age.  Please support us with this by ensuring kids are coming to school with a water bottle.

IGA Community Rewards

Next week I will be attending a presentation of Community Rewards funding from Marks IGA.  Mansfield Primary School will receive $2047 that will be spent directly on resources that will support our students.  Thank you to Stephen and Greg for the program and to all those people who donate their rewards points to Mansfield Primary School.  If you shop at the IGA and would like to donate rewards points, please speak to one of the IGA staff or to one of our office staff.

Uniform

Could families please support us to ensure that students come to school in full school uniform.  This is particularly important for senior students as they set an example for the rest of our kids.  If you are seeking an exemption for your child, please email it to me.  We have second-hand jumpers available for purchase at the school office.

Like always, please get in touch with us with any questions or concerns.  Call or email your classroom teacher, call the front office or email me tom.macmunn@education.vic.gov.au.

Have a great weekend.

Take Care,

Tom

A call out for small detergent, handwash, sanitiser bottles for the art room please. If you have any of these empty bottles that you are happy to donate to the art room, we would much appreciate the donations.

ART SMOCKS

All students should have their own NAMED Art Smocks that is kept in their classroom and bought to art classes. The school does not provide smocks. We are continually making a mess in the Art room and don’t want your child’s uniform to be stained.
