Welcome to Week 9
The school community appreciate everyone being so supportive during this very difficult time. We are getting new information on a daily basis and are communicating to you as quickly as possible.
As explained in Gladys Berejiklian's address this morning, schools are remaining open at this time. Premier Gladys Berejiklian is encouraging parents to keep their children at home for the rest of the term if they are in a position to do so. She said "We appreciate these are uncertain times and we thank all our teachers and all of our frontline workers who are going over and above to keep the community functioning."However, no child will be turned away, schools remain open."
All parents who now choose to keep their children at home will be marked as flexible meaning it will not count as an absence on their record.
Our teachers are busy working on remote learning plans in the event of school closures. In the meantime, we are continuing to provide lessons at school for those students in attendance. If you are choosing to keep your child home at this time there are several activities you can do to continue with their learning. Access to the subscription services like Mathletics and Studyladder are a good option. Reading books, writing stories and even physical activity are great ways to promote learning. Encourage your child to access their Google classroom if they are in Stage 3. There are also many businesses with online learning subscriptions that are offering free learning at this current time.
I have been invited to be part of a state address at 2pm this afternoon and I hope to have some more answers for our school community, moving forward.
Positive Stars Week 8
Each week I ask teachers to send students to visit me for being a positive star. These students are chosen as they have been recognised for producing excellent work, demonstrating outstanding work habits and being exceptional learners. Well done to the following students on being Positive Stars in Week 8. Parker and Connor 1/2 Platinum, Charlie and Rozeen 1/2 Silver, Oliver 1/2 Gold, Isaac, Declan, Elleanor, Mikaela and Lucas 3/4 Titanium and Robbie in 6 Blue. Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see more students this week.
Have a wonderful week of learning!
