Southerly Buster

As we enter Week 6 of Term 2 we welcome our students back to school. It was great to see everyone return on Monday 25th. Children were greeted with at the gate by eager and excited staff blowing bubbles and also our school mascot  "Bee" made a special appearance to meet the children.

I would like to thank all the families, parents and carers for an amazing effort in supporting our students during their "Learning from Home" All the staff at Goulburn South congratulate the students on their continuity of learning. 

We have rescheduled the annual school photos to Term 3 Week 5, Wednesday 19th August. Once we receive the photo envelopes we will hand these out to the students. 

In Term 1 a letter was sent home with all our Year 6 students to order their Graduation T-Shirts. We were hoping that these would have been ready by the end of this term. However due to COVID 19 we have delayed the parent order date to Week 9 of this term. Mrs Baxter sent home a reminder letter for those students who had not had the opportunity to order theirs. Please have the order form and payment back to the school by Friday 26th June 2020

Breakfast before school commenced last week and it was great to see our students lining up for their brekkie. A big shout out and thank you to Miss Weekes who sets up Monday - Thursday the breakfast table outside the canteen and feeds our students toast, cereal and milk 4 mornings a week.

Breakfast Club starts at about 8.30am - 8.55am

Goulburn South Calendar of Events

2/3G have been having so much fun investigating volume and capacity. They have been using mathematical terminology and symbols of L am ml to represent their findings. 2/3G are having fun measuring, recording, comparing and estimating volumes and capacities using litres and millilitres.  

The students in 5/6C have commenced their Genius Hour projects.

Students are working on their own areas of interest, varying from coding their own computer game, creating a 'How to Draw" book, designing an outdoor living space and choreographing their own dance routine. 

All projects will be presented at the end of Term 3. 

Josh Nockolds - during genius hour I'm making a game about space potatoes. I'm using scratch to make the game.they have to collect potatoes from around the universe and escape asteroids and SHOOTING stars????     ✴?   ?

We had a good day in the gardens today. First we checked if the snow pea seeds had emerged but no sign of them, yet! Then we found bunches of hakia seeds torn open by visiting black cockatoos, overnight. Finally we slipped on our gloves and harvested broccolini heads and parsley leaves. How could I forget pulling weeds out and collecting marigold flowers ruined by frosts?

The P and C has decided to postpone AGM until we can meet on school grounds again. Until then current committee will keep everyday business running. We are looking for  parents who are interested in joining the P and C or holding a position. You can send your expression of interest to pcgoulburnsouth@gmail.com

We will be running a pie drive as our first fundraiser details will be sent out soon.

Canteen is open now every Friday 

There will be a box in the Office for Lunch and Recess orders to be placed in.

Please have your child’s name, class and order written on the front of an envelope, with the money inside.

Your child’s order will be delivered to their classroom before Recess and Lunch.

The Canteen will not be serving any food over the counter.

SCHOOL JACKET ORDER FORMS

Last year we trialed  School Jackets We will be re-ordering again at the end of Term 2. Please collect order forms from the office if you wish to order. 

PLEASE HAVE ORDER FORMS AND PAYMENT BACK TO THE OFFICE NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 3 JULY 

We are hoping to have the jackets back in the first week of Term 3
