St Mary's Bulletin

We have a duty to be accountable to ourselves and to others. 

This year’s Faction Carnival has come on a day best spent at the pools considering how hot it was outside. Great to see the entire school attend this event and get behind their faction. A special thank you to Mrs Cress who has worked tirelessly to put together a competitive and enjoyable day for our students. Thank you to the P&F and Wild Poppy Café for organising lunch for staff and students who ordered online.

School fee invoices went out last week. Attached were different payment plan options which need to be returned by Wednesday 8th March. Please make an appointment with the principal if you are experiencing difficulties meeting your fee commitments.  

St Mary’s will be closed for Labour Day on Monday the 6th of March. Students return Tuesday 7th March. 

The Interschool Swimming Carnival will be held on Wednesday 8th March at the Merredin Swimming Pool for students in Years 3-6. The squad will be chosen using the results from the Faction Swimming Carnival and Mrs Crees will notify those students who will be competing. 

The Sacramental Commitment Masses will be held on Saturday 11 March at 6.30pm and Sunday 12 March at 10.30am for all students receiving a sacrament in 2023. All students are expected to attend one of the Masses and if students are unable, please contact Father Andrew. 

On Friday the 10th of March the Year 3/4 class will be attending the Parish Mass. All parents are welcome to attend.

Please only park in the car parks allocated at the front of the school (K – Year 2 parents) or the back carpark (Year 3-6 parents) and NOT on the island in the middle of South Avenue. If the front carpark is full, parents can access the back carpark and walk through.

All Sacrament Student and Parent Information Session is on Thursday 9th March at 3:15pm and will be held in the Library.

 If your child is making the Sacrament of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion or Confirmation in 2023, please join us for an information session led by Father Andrew.

All Year 5 and 6 students in 2023 who completed their Altar Serving Training in 2022 are invited to express their interest for an Altar Serving Roster for Sunday Masses. 

Please email zoe.omalley@cewa.edu.au if you are interested on being placed on a roster. It is envisioned that students placed on the roster would only be expected to Altar Serve once per month.

Eight keen St Mary’s tennis players represented the school at the 2023 Schools Classic in Beverley this week. Team 1 consisted of Patrick O’Neill, Greta Gethin, Mitchell O’Neill and Kate Growden and they came second in their pool to eventual overall winners York DHS. Team 2 consisted of Thomas Billing, Milla Dolton, Angelica Kraske- Beck and Van Creagh. They had a great day learning to play singles and how to be good doubles partners.
