Gospel Reflection

The ultimate blessing of God is Jesus himself. So today, we too, are invited to look to Jesus for inspiration during this holy season. The Lenten readings focus on the merciful action of God in our lives, and in the end, they point to Jesus.

What is happening in Year Six Religious Education

In Year Six, we are learning about the Eucharist and how it helps and challenges believers to live a Eucharistic life. Christians see the Eucharist as nourishment and a way to bring them closer to God. We attended midday Mass on Wednesday last week to help us understand the importance of the Eucharist. We experienced the unconsecrated bread, which means the priest hasn’t blessed it to become the Body of Christ.

Looking at the cup and bowl in real life was interesting because we hadn’t seen them before, especially so close.  I now know that the cup is called a chalice and the bowl is called a ciborium. We could see where the priest’s vestments, mass objects, and symbols are kept. It was cool to go for a tour through all areas of the Cathedral. Peter Doherty (Seminarian) was a spectacular guide and explained things so simply. Each of the stained-glass windows tells a story.

Year 1 Prayer Celebration

Please join Year One Gold in the Hall at 8.35 am this Friday.  Year One Gold will lead prayer reflecting on how they live the Catholic Social Teaching Principles in their classroom.

Holy Week Prayer Celebrations

Holy Week commences with Palm Sunday on the 2 April. We remember and re-enact the events which occur for and to Jesus in the approach to celebrating the most important feast for the Christian faith – the rising to a new life of Jesus at Easter.  Each class will remember and present a prayer reflection of Jesus during Holy Week. This will be presented in the order of events that occurred historically. Parents are invited to attend the presentation of their child/children’s class/classes.
