Ridges Festival

What a spectacular showcase of Performing Arts across Ridges schools!  The dancing, singing and ensemble performances demonstrated what amazing, hardworking, resilient and skilled students and staff we have every day in our schools.

From choreography, ticketing, props, costumes, transport, backstage coordination, rehearsals - to name but a few items - this was a mammoth production to organise. Thank you to Mrs J. Maher and Mrs C. Marsden for their superb organisation and coordination of the dazzling performances, whilst simultaneously conducting the combined choir and our own chamber choir.  Thank you to Mrs A. Shields, Miss G. Dowsing and Mrs N. D’Costa for their choreography and costuming of the students in our dance groups. Thank you to Mrs Metcalf for coordinating the backdrop to introduce and support the theme of each performance. Thank you to the KRPS office administration staff, Mrs N. Patrick and Mrs M. McDonald for ensuring the ticketing was available to all school community members wishing to attend. Lastly, thank you to the entire KRPS staff who supported the committee to deliver a magnificent production, both at rehearsal and on the night, so that our students had the opportunity to be in the spotlight.

K-2 Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to all K–2 children on their excellent effort at the K–2 Sports Day held last Monday, and thank you to the staff for their organisation and coordination of the event under the leadership of Miss S. Zammit and Mrs M. Heaton. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers there to support their children and join in the spirit of the day.

Thank you also to the 6M students for their coordination of the novelty events.  Both student leaders and the K-2 students showed great Kellyville Ridge enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Canteen Tender

A review of the canteen sustainability has been conducted with DoE finance.  It is evident that the school cannot financially sustain operating the canteen as it is currently.  The school must continue to adhere to the Healthy Schools Canteen initiative and in discussion with Mrs Birkett (the canteen manager), this will continue to place additional stress on the viability of the canteen.  Options have been looked into in regards to reducing the days the canteen opens; however, it doesn’t change the viability.  It appears many schools have gone to tender with one or two operating companies running the canteen across several schools.  Prices of most canteen products will increase in the coming weeks. This is the first increase in over 12 months. The canteen is a service to the community and is not meant for a profit making venture; however, it is essential that it covers its own costs.  In consultation with DoE Finance, our Business Manager Mrs McDonald and Canteen Manager Mrs Birkett, we will move ahead to seek tenders for running our school canteen in 2020. I wish to thank Mrs A. Birkett for her continued hard work, effort and commitment to run the school canteen and provide this service to our students and school families, especially when it was in a vulnerable state in 2018.  Thank you also to Mrs S. Cook and Mrs C. Arthur for their assistance in running the canteen in the busiest time of the week.

Tell Them From Me Surveys

Students in years 4-6, staff and parents will have the opportunity to complete one of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys. These surveys are completed at many schools and look at a range of topics. These include wellbeing, extra-curricular activities, engagement and inclusivity to name a few of the areas. The survey does take about 20- 30 minutes to complete; however, the data collated allows the school to strategically plan. The survey will be available in a couple of weeks and we will send out more information next week.

Enrolling K-6 students for 2020 NOW!

Have you enrolled your child for 2020??

We are in the final stages of organising our Kinderlinks program for those students beginning school in 2020. These sessions are essential for those students starting school in 2020.  Information will be sent home to those families who have enrolled.  We don’t wish for any of our littlies to miss out.  If you haven’t enrolled please contact the office to collect an enrolment pack.

Returning in 2020

Thank you to those families who have already completed the '2020 Student Enrolment form'. These numbers are submitted to determine the staffing allocation of KRPS for 2020.  Parents of Year 6 students do not need to complete the form on their behalf, all other students need to be accounted for.  We appreciate your assistance in ensuring our enrolment figures for 2020 are accurate. Please complete this form no later than Friday 13 September 2020.

Enrolment Policy

There has been some small changes to the Enrolment Policy for the NSW Department of Education. Please click the link below to assist you with these changes. If you have any questions about your personal circumstances please feel free to contact me to discuss your individual situation.
