PLEASE NOTIFY THE SCHOOL OF A CHILD'S POSITIVE CASE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Acknowledgement of Country...
Balmain Public School children are expected to wear full school uniform, including a school hat, every day. All children are required to wear full school uniform when representing the school on excursions, at sporting events or at cultural activities.
As per current DoE advice: Masks are an effective way of minimising the transmission of respiratory viruses and infections, and protecting our community, especially those who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and flu. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE all students and staff wear a mask for the first 4 weeks of Term 3, particularly in indoor settings or when distancing is not possible. Your consideration is appreciated.
From the Principal's Desk...
Congratulations, Ms Ferguson!
Not only did Ms Ferguson win a hand-painted cheese board from @urban.dreamtime at our School Development Day on Monday, she has also won a substantive Assistant Principal's (AP) role!
At the end of last term, Ms Nancy Ferguson, 5/6F teacher and relieving AP, formally applied for the newly-vacant position, previously held by Ms Lynda Lovett.
Ms Ferguson has been part of the executive team at Balmain for the past couple of years. She was the successful candidate at interview and accepted the offer of the position.
Now that the appeal period has officially passed, we can shout out from the treetops and beyond...CONGRATULATIONS!
Welcome back, Mrs Loxton!
This term, we welcome back Mrs Stephanie Loxton, who will be teaching STEAM to our K-6 students on Mondays and Tuesdays!
Welcome, Miss Sturgis!
My name is Susie (Miss Sturgis) and I am a fourth year education student completing my placement in 1/2P throughout Term 3.
My interest include art, dance and all things creative. I look forward to working alongside, and learning from, Miss Parsons and Miss Davis throughout the term.
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART @ BPS
We are excited to announce that Balmain Public School are participating in Jump Rope for Heart this term – a fantastic fundraising and physical activity program by the Heart Foundation. By participating in Jump Rope for Heart this term, we're expecting to get our students moving. We’ll have ropes available on the school grounds and encouraging everyone to help raise funds for lifesaving research and support programs. Over the coming weeks your child will learn new skills, increase their physical activity, and learn about heart health. And the program will end with our school wide ‘Jump Off Day’ where your child gets to show off their new skipping skills to their friends.
Congratulations to our Environmental Warriors, officially recognised in Jamie Parker MP's address in NSW Parliament!
Congratulations to Liya 5/6F, who is officially an Australian citizen!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

We are warming up our bodies to get ready for the 'Jump Rope for Heart' challenge!
This week we have reflected on our holidays, writing recounts about all our adventures.
