Years 10 to 12 - HSC Preparation Courses

The link below provides information on courses being hosted by The University of Sydney during the upcoming April holidays. Several are aimed at Years 10 and 11 around essay writing skills, however most are HSC subject specific preparation courses aimed at our current Year 12.  Courses such as these provide a great opportunity to enhance the learning that is experienced at school and to further facilitate academic success in the HSC.

From the Library

The 2021 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge has begun!

The PRC officially started 1st March and runs until 20th August 2021. Any books read from Christmas 2020 onwards can count towards this year’s challenge total.

The PRC booklists can be viewed here.

Students can read from their challenge level or higher. The PRC booklist is quite extensive catering for a variety of reading levels, with popular and quality literature from Australian and International authors.

All K-2 students will complete the challenge whilst at school from the books read in class or in the library. These books will be logged on the parent’s behalf by library staff. However, if parents would like their child’s login please contact Mrs Trish Doonan at: patricia.doonan@tphs.nsw.edu.au and she will forward it on to you.

Years 3-6 will need to read 20 books (15 from PRC booklist and 5 free choice) to complete the challenge. PRC login details will be placed in diaries.

Years 7-10 will need to read 20 books (15 from PRC booklist and 5 free choice) to complete the challenge. There is a new challenge level for Year 10 students who may not have completed the challenge last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They also have a corresponding Level 9 plus booklist that can only be viewed from the old website. If students have forgotten their login details, they can request this information from the library staff.

View the link to Level 9 plus booklist here.

Happy Reading!
