St Mary's Bulletin

Term 1 - Week 9 (31st March, 2023)

Dear St Mary's School Community

Focus Value: : Sportsmanship

We play fairly for the enjoyment of all and encourage each other to do our best.

Professional Learning Day

The staff took part in a very engaging professional learning opportunity last Friday with 2 new consultants from CEWA assisting us in our journey to improve teaching and learning of mathematics at St Mary’s. Now that our assessments are becoming more streamlined, the consultants were able to identify our students needs and strengths in numeracy and assisted us in analysing the data. We were able to review our journey in enriching mathematics and were given a plethora of resources and data collection tables to engage our students even more during numeracy lessons.

Assessment Portfolio

Assessment Portfolios will go home on the last day of term, Thursday 6th April and will contain a snapshot of some of the work your child has completed. The work in the assessment portfolio should complement the information shared to you by your child’s class teacher at the parent teacher interviews and other feedback you have received in the term. Please take time to go through the portfolio with your child and then provide feedback on the reflection sheet provided. The portfolio and reflection sheet are to be returned to your child’s teacher by the end of week 1, term 2 (Friday 28th April).

Winter Uniform

Please see below for details on how to order the winter uniform.  More detailed information can be found on the school website in the parent handbook

The Year Six students presented an outstanding assembly item today. It not only displayed how much fun they had, but it demonstrated how much they learnt and the importance of teamwork, resilience and perseverance
