Dear Families,
Attendance
Around 95% of our students are at school – a great achievement!
While we have been supporting parent choice during this pandemic, we now expect all of our students who are well and not considered vulnerable to COVID-19 to attend school.
Students are required to attend school unless they are:
· Feeling unwell
· Have a chronic medical condition or compromised immune system and are not able to attend school on advice from their medical practitioner
· Live in a household with others that are deemed vulnerable to COVID-19 and are not able to attend school. Written advice from a medical practitioner will need to be provided. (I.e. Doctor Certificate)
· Have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or have been required to self-isolate by SA Health
We will continue to provide support, as we would usually do for students not able to attend school on advice from their medical practitioner.
We're Impressed!
Well done to our Reception learners and their families...
In a world that is disrupted, uncertain and slightly unpredictable, our Dernancourt students have shown resilience, confidence and independence. As a staff, we have been are so impressed with our students as they have come back to school without being accompanied through the gates each morning by their parents / caregivers, and have grown and improved as they have demonstrated these skills and values each day.
We know that their parents have also needed to be brave, trust us, and believe that their child is trustworthy, independent and capable of achieving this milestone... it was just a little earlier than the adults had prepared themselves for! There have been 'silver-linings' to be found in this troubled time and this, along with the joy of staff and students to be back together at school are some of them. We hope that we will not go back to our ‘old’ ways once restrictions are lifted but that you will continue to see your child through this lens.
Kind Regards
The Leadership Team.
