Welcome to Week 4 Term 3

Make My Day

Last week I was lucky enough to have three wonderful boys visit me to share some of their work. Nash from 1M has been learning about describing words. He completed some activities and explained to me the meaning of some words he used to describe an insect. Great work Nash, you showed me how hard you have been trying in class.

Oscar and Lucas from KP both came to read and show some work. Both boys read very fluently and with expression, well done! Lucas also read one of his own stories. It is fantastic to see our Kindergarten students achieving such amazing results so early in their school career.

Galgabba Public Speaking Competition

Congratulations to all our Galgabba Public Speaking Competition finalists. We had some fantastic results across all Stages. A special congratulations to Nahla for her success at the Multi-Cultural Speaking competition. Nahla has moved through to the Regional level. Good luck Nahla we are all proud of you!

Planning for 2023

We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2023. If you know of families in our Caves Beach zone who have a child starting Kindergarten next year, please advise them to enrol online or come to our school office to complete forms to start the enrolment process. We would also encourage any families who will not be returning to Caves Beach PS in 2023 to let us know as soon as possible. The planning process is complex. Student numbers determine our staffing allocation and governs class formations.

Book Week

We are looking forward to opening our classrooms to parents and care givers next Thursday 18th August to celebrate Book Week and Education Week. Parents will be able to visit classrooms to work with their child during the morning session. Parents can then share a lunch break and enjoy the book character parade.

Congratulations to the following students who represented our school at the Galgabba Public Speaking Competition on Wednesday.

Congratulations to Nahla. D who won the Stage 3 Multicultural Zone Public Speaking Competition, that ran at the end of last term . She will now progress to the Regional Competition on the 30th, August. Good luck Nahla!

Good luck to our students representing Caves Beach at the Zone Public Speaking this week. 

Our basketball team are participating in the basketball gala day being held on Tuesday 9th August at the Newcastle Basketball Centre.  Good luck!
