Coronavirus Update

As you are all aware information of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be updated and is flooding the media, however, it is important that as a school we communicate our response and issues of concern in our context.

Via Skoolbag today we have communicated a message from the Principal and Deputy Principal regarding plans around several contingencies that we believe are possible. Information in the letter includes:

  • Postponed or cancelled excursion or events
  • Student collection procedure in the event of school closure
  • What to do if your child or a family member contracts the virus
  • Information on if you are planning international travel

Please click here to read the full letter.

Health and Hygiene
As with all colds and influenzas, the best protection against the Coronavirus is good hygiene and sensible precautions around spreading germs.  Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses.

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, dispose of tissues, use anti-viral hand sanitiser or wash hands well. Cough into your elbow rather than onto your hands.
  • Do not share drink bottles or other utensils.
  • If you show any signs of illness (as with all colds and influenzas), avoid contact with others. Therefore, please stay home from school and seek medical advice.

Our sanitiser supplier has installed more units in the past 24 hours to ensure this is even more convenient. It is important to also know that our cleaners are doing a disinfectant wipe down of all door handles and hand rails at the end of every day.

We will continue to keep our community informed as new information evolves. However, if you have any further questions, please feel free to be in contact.

Mr James Walmsley,
Deputy Principal

Kathmandu Discount Offer for the Pittwater House Community

Pittwater House has set up a program with Kathmandu at Warringah Mall that entitles students, families, and faculty to 40-60% off the regular prices of Kathmandu gear.

The way it works is that Pittwater House will have various 'events' throughout the year. These have been set up to fall before School Camps/World Challenge/ DOE trips. The invitation letter to attend the discount event will be sent to all families via Skoolbag. All you need to do is print out the invitation and attend the store during the Event time period.

The first event is to be held on the 30th of April through to the 3rd of May. A skoolbag invitation was sent last week.
