Happy Father's Day

We wish all our families a happy Father's Day.  I hope we all get to enjoy Spring sunshine and have a restful day this Sunday.  I  sincerely thank our wonderful volunteers who provided our scrumptious breakfast and organised our hugely successful stall.  What a great way to mark this special day.

Southern Stars "Come Alive"

Last week was the show week for Southern Stars, where sixteen of our Year 5/6 choir members travelled to Wollongong to join the mass choir.

Wednesday was a day long choir rehearsal at a local high school. Thursday was a technical rehearsal followed by a full-dress rehearsal at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre. We were there from 9.00am until 6.00pm. It was a very long day. Friday and Saturday had matinee and evening performances. It was very full and tiring but also a great experience.

The show was fantastic showcasing creative arts students in 3 hours of music, drama, dance and circus. The sound, lighting, props, costumes and special effects were wonderful.

Our students were part of the mass choir, which provides backing for the featured vocalists. They are the backdrop of the whole show.

As usual, our students were wonderful participants and should be proud of their efforts.

We need to thank all the parents that came with us and braved the traffic and parking. Without them, there would be no excursion! A huge thank you.

Book Week

Dress up as a Book Character Day

Our dress up day was a huge success. The playground slowly filled with excited children wearing an amazing range of costumes, obviously very happy to admire each others outfits. Our day began with assembly followed with each class parading and posing for a huge audience of parents and student.

After lunch our Peer Support groups participated in a range of learning activities involving all areas of the curriculum.  Congratulations to all our Year 6 leaders for the excellent leadership and support of their group members.   A warm thank you to families for your support and effort as we celebrate Book Week.
