To ensure you receive all communication via SkoolBag, please have the app downloaded on your phone, with the notifications turned ON.

Although the school pushes out notifications via the app and email, there may be times when an important message may be missed as emails may sometimes not be checked regularly.

From the Office

How can we be of assistance today?

ALL Emails / permissions etc MUST include the student's FIRST NAME / LAST NAME & CLASS

Please remember that if you are collecting your child early for an appointment or dropping them off, please ensure you allow extra time for your child to be located and brought down to the office.

If your family details, circumstances have changed, ie:  address, mobile numbers, separations, court orders etc, could you kindly email the school so records can be updated. This will ensure correct people are contacted and all relevant information is passed on correctly.

When paying for anything on your child's account to the school, please make sure you haven't already paid, to avoid unnecessary refunds.

If you are experiencing financial difficulty, please contact the office, or Mrs Lambos, to arrange alternate options.

P&C...

2022 P&C Executive...

Dear parents and carers.

We are pleased to announce that at last week’s P&C AGM we voted in our 2022 Executive Team and have all the positions filled as follows:

  • P&C President: Lauren LaChapelle (Ava in Yr 1)
  • Vice President: Gemma Puplett (George in Yr 1 and Joshua in Yr 4)
  • Vice President: Nathalia Stone (Scarlett in Kindy)
  • Treasurer: Paul Galpin (Jasper in Yr2 and Sam in Kindy)
  • Secretary: Renate Harris (Jack in Yr 2 and Lachlan in Yr 4)

The team are so excited to continue the great work of the departing execs and want to once again thank Cliff, Victoria and Shehana for all their hard work and dedication over the years.

We also thank all those parents and carers that are volunteering as this year’s class representatives, and we look forward to working with you all too.

After two years of COVID restrictions and not being able to fundraise much at all we are excited to plan some great events this year and get the community together again. We have all missed being in school, sharing special milestones with our children, and socialising together, so to help us organise our events calendar we recruited Karen Reiner as Events Coordinator.

We are in the planning stages of our two main 2022 events: The Art Show with Mrs Bowman this year - a fabulous event much-loved by kids and parents which will this year be held in term 3. The Trivia Night Team is excited to announce they have secured Friday 27th May for an in-person trivia event to be held at the White Bay Terminal and we will be posting an announcement shortly.

The P&C is also discussing a range of social events throughout the year including our annual Welcome Drinks for the school community to meet us and also for new parents and carers that have joined our community, BBQs, discos and other events throughout the year. We hope to be able to update you in the coming weeks with further details.

Like many initiatives at school our fundraising efforts would not be possible without the wonderful community of parents who volunteer their time and efforts as well as our fantastic Balmain Public staff and teachers. It is not too late to join the P&C as a member where you get to vote on these initiatives and where resources are spent. Just drop us an email and we’ll let you know how to join.

If you any questions or feedback please email balmainpspc@gmail.com

P&C Exec

A little about our President Lauren LaChapelle:

This is Damon and my first year at Balmain Public School with our daughter Ava beginning in Year One, and already in our short time here, we are impressed with the enthusiasm and sense of community that the staff, teachers, parents and carers have, which was the main catalyst that I volunteered to be involved with the P&C.

Since Ava began at her previous school in 2019, I enjoyed being her class representative and getting involved in organising school and community events (as well has coping with the demands of her two older sisters studying in Year 11 and 9, and the rigours of working from home)!

I have been a proud Balmain local for more than 15 years, and am passionate about  supporting our local businesses on the Peninsula, and the community.

I look forward to meeting as many parents and carers during the year and welcome the opportunity to work with Principal Maria Lambos and her staff, as well as the P&C and class reps, and encourage any of you that wish to be involved in any capability (no matter how big or small) to let myself or one of the Executive members know.

I wish you all well and look forward to a great 2022 school year.

UNIFORMS

Balmain Public School children are expected to wear full school uniform, including a school hat, every day. All children are required to wear full school uniform when representing the school on excursions, at sporting events or at cultural activities.

3/4 PUFFERFISH!!!

Hooray the rain stopped! 3/4P loved the sunshine that made an appearance this week, and took the opportunity to test out the new equipment installed in Gladstone Park. They embraced the fresh air - climbing, sliding, and laughing together. It was a wonderful opportunity to build friendships and take a break!
