Harmony Day

Financial Assistance

Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund will ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities.

School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum.

CSEF will be provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

The annual CSEF amount per student will be:

  • $125 for primary school students
  • $225 for secondary school students.

    Catholic Education Week 2022

Although the year has just started we are already looking ahead to 2023 and  sharing the good news  about Catholic Schools. Our Social Media pages highlight lots of the Learning Experiences that happen at St Timothy's. Hopefully these can help spread the word about our wonderful school and community. We are open for enrolments for 2023, so please spread the news and invite families you might know with Pre School children to 'BOOK A TOUR' to see why St Timothy's is  'A GREAT PLACE TO BE!'

During Catholic Education Week we celebrate not only our wonderful school but all that our Catholic Schools and Parishes have to offer families.

    Catholic Education Week

    St Timothy's School

St Timothy's first SAC ( School Advisory Council) Meeting for 2022 is Tuesday 15th March

Council Members: Fr Gerard, Anne Maree Jones, Shane Griffin (Parish), Mary Italiano (Parish), Carly Corcoran ( Parent) , Tina Psathas (Parent)  & Staff Members.

St Timothy's School is a school that operates with the consent of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and is operated and governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS), where formation and education are based on the mission of Jesus and where the teachers are faithful in their witness to and service of that mission.

Purpose of the School Advisory Council

The board of MACS has responsibility for the strategic direction and oversight of the operation and management of MACS schools, including St Timothy's School. Clear lines of authority, reporting and delegation from the MACS board through the Executive Director delegate the day-to-day operational management of St Timothy's School to its principal.

The School Advisory Council provides a crucial point of connection between the wider school community and school leaders. While the School Advisory Council does not have governance responsibility or decision-making authority, it supports the principal and school leadership and provides an important connection to the parish.

The School Advisory Council’s role, supports the overall governance of MACS schools as it ‘is to give consideration to, and advice on, important school matters in order to support the principal and the strategic interest of the school’

Role of the School Advisory Council -Advisory in nature

The School Advisory Council provides a forum for discussion and discernment, where parent voice and community perspective are available to inform and support the decisions made by the principal and parish priest as the custodian of mission for the good of school and parish where students’ wellbeing and outcomes are paramount.

It is important that School Advisory Council members understand that their primary role is to provide assistance and advice on school matters to support the principal in their leadership role. School Advisory Councils do not have a legal identity and do not become involved in the day-to-day management of the school.

The MACS board, as the governing body of MACS schools, is responsible for the common good of Catholic education in MACS schools in the Archdiocese, and thus is ultimately responsible for making any decision about the establishment of a council and its arrangements.

    SAC - Expression of Interest

At the request of the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) board – our governing body, St Timothy's is re-establishing a School Advisory Council to support the principal, parish priest and leadership team of the school.

While no particular expertise is required, the school seeks people with a range of diverse skill sets to best advise the principal, united by a desire to provide the best possible education for our students.

A balanced membership with parent voice on the School Advisory Council is well-placed to advise the principal about important matters, particularly those related to the school’s mission and students’ success.

The needs of the council will be given priority in terms of ensuring a balance of gender, cultural diversity and skill sets.

Therefore, we are calling on you to express your interest in being part of the School Advisory Council. If you are a member of the parish or have children in the school and wish to be part of this exciting development, we would welcome your application in writing to Anne Maree Jones by  8th April.

    Rapid Antigen Test

Yesterday we sent our next 2 week batch of RATS (Rapid Antigen Testing)  to families. There is a rise again in cases in the local community. We ask that all children and staff complete the test twice a week. Again, thank you for supporting us by testing your children.

Masks - At this stage children Year 3 and all adults must continue to wear masks inside.

THIS IS MY SON - LISTEN TO HIM

‘Listen to him …!’ Lent is a season of seeking out and listening to the Lord. Every year on this Second Sunday, we read an account of the Transfiguration: a transforming spiritual encounter linking Jesus to the fulfilment of the Law and the Prophets. Here we see a foretaste of the glory of the Risen Christ: a vision of how our lives are transformed by the presence of Christ within us.

The First Reading tells of a meeting between God and Abram. Through Abram’s faith, God makes an eternal covenant with the people of Israel. The Psalm is a song of longing and hope in the faith of the Lord: a call to prayer that encourages us to seek God’s light, guidance and strength. In the letter to the Philippians (Second Reading), we are entreated to be united in our faith. Christ will transfigure us.
