Letter from the Acting Principal

Congratulations to everyone in our community for a fabulous Term 3.  Together, staff, students and families have achieved great things.  Thank you to everyone for your positive contributions to ensure that our school continues to thrive for our wonderful children.  I wish you all a happy and safe holiday break where you take time to give thanks for all and to replenish so that you can enjoy all that is to come.

We look forward to all children wearing their favourite footy colours this Friday 16th September.  The children will enjoy a special football lunch followed by a gathering on the top playground at 12:30pm to belt out our favourite football songs.  Good luck to all teams who have made the finals.

School Uniform Changeover

All children are required to wear their full summer school uniform at the start of Term 4.  As part of our sunsmart policy the children are expected to wear a hat when playing outside.  Our no hat, no play policy will be implemented at the beginning of the Term.  I have listed below the correct summer school uniform and thank you for your support in ensuring that your child/ren come to school wearing their correct uniform.

Last Day of Term - Early Dismissal

Just a reminder we finish school this Friday the 16th September for the Term 3 school holidays at 2:30pm.  School will resume for Term 4 on Monday 3rd October at 8:50am

Victorian Water Safety Certificate

The Victorian Water Safety Certificate is a Victorian Government initiative, which describes specific competencies that should be achieved by the end of primary school.  These competencies identify the knowledge and skills to enable students to safely enjoy water-based activities in calm and shallow aquatic environments.  The competencies focus on water safety knowledge, rescue skills, survival sequences and the ability to swim a continuous distance of 50m.

This year our Year 3 - 6 students participated in a water safety program last Tuesday and our Year 5/6 students attended today.

In Term 4 we will also be holding a swimming carnival for our Year 3-6 students on Tuesday 25th October with Year 3/4 attending from 12:30 - 1:30 and Year 5/6 students from 1:30 - 2:30pm

This will be another great opportunity to further build upon our students skills and competencies.

Division Athletics

Good luck to the following students who are attending Division Athletics tomorrow:-

Ashan, Poppy, Lorelei, Jake, Max, Riley, Ben, Ria, Logan, Ellie, Brody, Alxys, Zaylen, Cooper, Niamh, Samuel and Lucas

Footy Dress Up Day

This Friday 16th September is our Annual Footy Dress Up Day.  Children are asked to wear their team colours on this day and bring a gold coin to donate to charity.  Our Year 5/6 students have requested that the funds raised are donated to St Vinnies to support their initiative with the Winter Food Appeal.  We love that our seniors have taken such an active role in fundraising and are so passionate about supporting those in need.

After School Activities

Please see the below flyers for some after school activities that are being offered by SoccerX and Young Engineers Melbourne.  These activities are run by outside providers so all bookings, enquiries and payments are directly through them.

St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal

We made our final donation collection last Thursday, and we got so much food!

Thank you to all the parents who encouraged their children to bring food and toiletries.

Last Thursday was the last day that we were collecting.

The St Vinnies volunteers were amazed at the generosity of the school families.  This was a fantastic community effort and we hope to do it all again next year.

Thank you again from the year six leaders: Gordon, Gabi, Tina, Tom, Mia and Faustina.
