Dear Parents,
Thank you for your kind thoughts and words of support for Mrs Thompson during a very sad time. She has been in touch with us and is missing the students terribly. We are looking forward to her returning to school later this term.
Term 4 events
As restrictions begin to ease, we are preparing for a number of events for different groups across the school. In coming weeks, Stage 2 students will be visiting Sydney Zoo, Stage 3 students will be having Games Nights and preparation is well underway for the Fun Fair for all students in Week 7.
Kids' Cancer Project Fundraiser
This week the students have been involved in trying to raise money for the Kids' Cancer Project. They have been buying raffle tickets and today was a mufti day. The students could wear gold or yellow and bring in a gold coin donation.
Our target was $1000 and we have collected just over $1300. An amazing effort for a great cause.
Glenmore Park High School Transition
Next Tuesday, 27 October, staff from Glenmore Park High School will be onsite to speak to Year 6 students about Year 7 2021. There will also be an opportunity for students to attend Glenmore Park High School and other public high schools on Tuesday 1 December.
Panthers Day
On Friday, to show our support for our local NRL team the Penrith Panthers, students can wear their Panthers gear or dress in the Panthers colours.
There will be no charge for this mufti day.
Neighbours
We have received a number of complaints from our neighbours about people parking across their driveways. We are aware that the streets around the school do not have enough parking spaces but we all need to be mindful of our neighbours by ensuring that we respect their space. Those neighbours who have been affected are considering contacting the police.
There are an increasing number of parents who are choosing to come for pick up a few minutes after the peak time of 3pm. Teachers are on at the front and back gate until 3.15pm each day waiting with students.
Moving away from Regentville PS in 2021?
If you know that you are moving away from Regentville PS in 2021, we would appreciate a note or phone call to school informing us of the school your child will be attending in 2021. This will assist us with our planning for the new year.
Skoolbag App
Keep an eye on the Skoolbag app for information about end of year events. We are expecting that there will be lots happening, particularly towards the end of term.
Student absences/late arrival
If students are away from school due to illness or family reasons, parents are required to inform the class teacher by sending in a note explaining the absence. Some parents utilise the Skoolbag app to send in the written notification for absences.
It is also important that students arrive at school prior to the 9am bell in the morning. If students arrive late, they must present to the front office to be marked in for the day.
Thanks for your continued support with the necessary COVID restrictions.
