Principals Report

Dear Parents & Guardians

Restrictions update: Social distancing is still a necessity and face masks must be worn inside. As previously stated, please do not come to school if displaying COVID symptoms.

Remote Learning:  Thank you to families & staff for your continued support of what has been a  challenging time for everyone. We are enjoying having everyone back onsite.

Swimming final lesson: Unfortunately we are unable to complete our final day of swimming next week as hoped , this will now be rescheduled to early Term 3. Once our date is confirmed you will receive an Operoo permission request with all of the information.

Friends of St John’s Meeting; Unfortunately this was cancelled and will be rescheduled for early next term.

Classroom move for seniors: During remote learning, the 3 new portables were made ready for the senior classes.  Last Friday, the last of the furniture was relocated and the children have commenced working in these rooms. Over the holidays, the existing senior/library building will be gutted in preparation for the new building works.

Building works, Playground and Carpark: There will be some alterations to the way we use the car parking area from next term. We will be losing some of our existing parking spaces so availability of an afternoon especially will be limited. Parents will be asked to ‘pick-up and move-on’ if using the carpark. We thank you for your understanding

St John the Baptist Feast Day: 24th June is the Feast Day for St John the Baptist. Due to COVID restrictions, we will not be able to invite parents to our Feast Day Mass.  As part of our celebrations, we have arranged special activities at each level and the school will also provide a ‘sausage sizzle’ lunch for the children.

School Closure Days: Please be reminded that Friday 25th June and Monday 12th July are student free days as previously advised.

Regards

Chris Dortmans, Principal

Uniform Shop

The uniform shop is open on Monday and Thursday 2:30 - 3:15pm, parents may attend the uniform shop in person, due to density limits only one person will be allowed in the shop at a time.

Online is still the preferred method of purchasing uniform unless you need to check sizing.

If you need to exchange an item please e-mail Belinda at uniform@stjohnskwr.catholic.edu.au with details and return the item via the office (please ensure it is unwashed with tags still attached) and your name is attached to the item returned. Exchanges will be processed on the next uniform shop day.

For Uniform ordering through CDF pay—Visit https://stjohnskwr.cdfpay.org.au  or scan QR Code. (Guidelines for setting up your CDFpay account can also be found on Skoolbag).

As we are a ‘Sun Smart School’ we also require the children to wear a school hat from September to April with the ‘No Hat-No Play’ policy strictly enforced during 1st and 4th terms.

School uniform guidelines are available in the Parent Information section of Skoolbag, on our website or a hard copy can be obtained from the office.
