Principal's Report - Term 4 week 3

Staffing Update

Congratulations Mrs Dube, who has been appointed relieving
assistant principal for the remainder of Term 4.

Mrs Dube will continue as teacher of 1/2T, but will have some additional administration time each week to  manage these extra responsiblities.

I'm excited to announce that a librarian has been appointed to our school. Ms Gimissis is a trained teacher-librarian and will be joining our permanent staff, working 2 days per week in 2023.

Merit selection panels are now underway to appoint a new assistant principal to replace Mrs Martelli, and a new permanent pre-school teacher, both to start next year.

Mrs Farrell

We were saddened and shocked to receive the news that our School  Learning Support Officer, Mrs Farrell, died after a brief illness.

Mrs Farrell was a learning support officer at Rydalmere Public School for five years. During this time she worked closely with many of our neediest students, supporting their participation and development of skills.  We will all miss her sunny disposition, her boundless energy and her generous nature.

My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Community Hub News

Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 4.

We celebrated Grandparents Day on 17th of October. It was lovely to see such a big gathering after a break for 2 years due to Covid restrictions. Despite the rain forecast, we had approximately 60 adults attending the function. Both children and our elderly friends had fun playing a unique type of Bingo, building interesting conversations between the generations.

Hub was also able to arrange 3 fun stations : a card making corner, book reading corner and a photo booth corner for the families to explore after the game. The event came to a close with a light morning tea.

I would love to take this opportunity to thank our Principal Ms Campbell, and all our school staff for their support throughout the event. A big thank you to South Central Café for a yummy morning tea, Ms Crystal from Hills Coffee Grind and her student volunteers,  Ms Fatima, Ms Kalarani and Ms Shara for serving over 100 cups of hot beverage. I would also like to thank Ms Ami, Ms Priscilla and Ms Natasha for their time and support in all the fun stations.

Bubs and Books program is back. This time it will be on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the OOSH room. Children less than 5 years are welcome to join with their carers.

Do you have any ideas for hub programs? What do you like to continue at the hub? Do you have any concerns with any existing programs? Please feel free to contact me and we can discuss.
