Principal's report

Dear parents and carers

What an exciting term we have had! Our students have continued to shine in and out of school making us very proud.

The LAaFF was once again a successful event where our students represented Marsden Road Public School with their wonderful behaviour and of course the stunning performances. Congratulations to all the students on their achievement. A big thank you to all the teachers for their time and effort in preparing our students to perform on this platform. Around 140 students participated in this event! This in itself is a testimony to our students' enthusiasm and our teachers' dedication.

This year our school also participated in the Korean Performance Contest. The Korean dance group performed a traditional Korean fan dance that won them second place. Congratulations to the girls Mrs Sang Hee Lee for this outstanding result. The group was also invited to perform at the 30th Anniversary of the Korean Education Centre which was held at the Westin Sydney. The girls received huge accolades from the audience.

Next term will be a very busy one as we head towards the end of school year. Please take the next two weeks time to relax and spend some quality time with friends and family. Have a safe break.

Regards

Manisha Gazula

News from around the school

Combined schools NAIDOC event

On Thursday 5th September our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students attended the Combined Schools NAIDOC event held at Ashcroft Public School. They had a wonderful day playing games and participating in cultural activities.

LAaFF

On Tuesday 10th September, approximately 140 students performed at the annual LAaFF festival. Our school shone like stars in the following groups; Kindy dance, stage 1 dance, stage 2 dance, stage 3 dance, boys’ dance, signing choir and, for the first time, slam poetry.

Every performer deserves a huge congratulations for giving up lunchtime after lunchtime to rehearse their item, putting in an outstanding effort when performing and being so beautifully behaved all throughout the rehearsal and performance on the day. I’m pretty sure I’m not biased, but I think Marsden Road PS had the best performances on the night.

Thankyou also to our dedicated teachers who gave up their own to time to choreograph performances, make or source costumes and rehearse with students for the better part of the year.
