THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD C

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You see how it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that, in his name, repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses to this.

‘And now I am sending down to you what the Father has promised. Stay in the city then, until you are clothed with the power from on high.’ Then he took them out as far as the outskirts of Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. Now as he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up to heaven. They worshiped him and then went back to Jerusalem full of joy; and they were continually in the Temple praising God.

SACRED HEART WINTER WOOLIES

This year we will again support the Vinnies Winter Appeal. If you are able to assist in supporting our least vulnerable it would be greatly appreciated. We are seeking donations of socks, beanies, gloves and scarves.

To help maintain the dignity of those who will receive these items we ask that all items donated be new and in the packages in which they were purchased.  The children can bring these items to school between 23rd May - 21st June.

This is a great opportunity for the children to spread the Good News and to show that the Church is really alive.

Stop Work Action

I wish to advise you that on Friday, 27 May 2022 a number of our staff may take part in protected industrial action (stop work action) to progress their claims for a new enterprise agreement.

I want to assure you that supervision and classes will be provided at school on this day.

Our staff are within their rights to take protected industrial action. At the same time, we appreciate families’ concerns about further potential disruption to students and the school community, especially given the current situation with COVID-19 and recent flooding.

Catholic Education Diocese Parramatta and other Catholic Dioceses across NSW and the ACT have regularly met with the union to progress negotiations for a new enterprise agreement and will continue to do so.

Thank you for your understanding and I will continue to keep you updated about this matter.

Tell Them From Me Survey

In the coming weeks (Monday 30 May to Friday 1 July 2022), we will be inviting students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.

We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at Our Lady of Lourdes School.

The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The link will be sent home to parents to complete.

Students in Years 4-6 will be given the opportunity and time to participate in this survey during regular school hours. Thank you
