Parent/Teacher Interviews

A reminder that Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held next Monday 12th September and Tuesday 13th September. Primary interviews will be for 15 minute duration and high school interviews for 10 minutes. Please contact Mrs Romaso-Daimol or drop into the office to book your interview time.

We ask that parents be on time for their interview as the schedule is usually very busy. If you are late or miss your appointed time, you may miss out on your interview and have to reschedule for another day.

Student Assessment Folios

Today, students will bring home their assessment folio which showcases some of the assessment tasks they have completed this term. We ask that parents take the time to look through the folio with their child and discuss areas of progress and goals for future focus. Please return folios on Monday for parent/teacher interviews. Alternatively, parents can bring the folio to the interview.

Jewellery Reminder

A reminder that students are not to wear necklaces, bracelets or dangling ear-rings to school. A religious/culturally significant item of jewellery may be worn, as long as it is not visible.

From the Deputy Principal (STM)

This week the Work Ready Program trainees completed week 5 of their program, having covered modules on ‘Working in a Team’ and ‘Meeting Workplace Expectations’. The trainees have also been preparing their song and dance to share with the school community at next week’s Independence Day celebrations.

National Exam preparation classes are taking place each weekend at STMC throughout this term to ensure the very best opportunity for our students to succeed in these very important exams. It is important students attend all of these lessons with their learning materials each week.

Our FODE students and Elementary teachers from across Lihir continue to work on their distance education with the support of our STMC Staff.

Please note the Kisim Save Library is open for use by all Newcrest Employees and Townsite Residents. Please email SchoolToMineCampus@newcrest.com.au to book a time to come.

Regards,

Mr. Kevin Collins
