THANK YOU to all the families that voted for School Sports and Picnic dates. As a result of the questionnaire/survey, the School Sports & Picnic will be held on FRIDAY 25th March beginning at 5pm.
The evening will consist of both competitive and non- competitive activities for both children and their extended family.
Please start to organise your colours, your running shoes and picnic goodies.
This community events has always fabulous fun for children and adults. Keep your fingers crossed that after a two year 'child only' event due to COVID restrictions that we can finally return to a family celebration!
We were lucky enough on Wednesday to have St John First Aid School Program give our children hands on lessons in First Aid. It is part of a yearly program that assists children on understanding some basic first aid for themselves and the treatment of others. It also helps relieve the anxiety that children may feel when being treated after an injury. The presenter was very impressed by the children's knowledge and behaviour!
On Friday 4th and Friday 11th March we are thrilled to be involved in a Auskick training sessions that will be held at St Timothy's School. Children are asked to wear their Sports Uniform and can also choose to wear footy jumpers/shorts/ colours if they have suitable options. The morning is being provided by a local Auskick group. What a great start to the football season. All volunteers have Working with Children Certification and meet COVID Immunisation requirements.
Again we have been able to take advantage of community groups and will have Hockey Roadshow Program at St Timothy's on Friday 25th February. This is a wonderful opportunity to have the children experience a great range of Sports led by skilled staff in that particular sport. All volunteers have Working With Children Certification and meet COVID Immunisation requirements. Again we ask children to wear Sports Uniform on this day. To confirm, children wear Sports Uniform on 25th February (Hockey) and 4th & 11th March (Auskick)
NOT on 18th March as Photo Day.
We have rescheduled our School Photos so they will not clash with our onsite Auskick Incursion. Photo day will be Friday 18th March
Full Summer Uniform is required.
Please ensure appropriate school shoes and socks are worn and that children bring their school windcheater. Long hair must be tied back. Thank you.
Yesterday you would have received a fee statement sent home with the children in regards to School Fees for 2022.
Please note the fee statement does not show payments already made this year. It only details the fee and levy charges for 2022. Please take this into account when looking at the amount due.
An additional statement will be issued early March which will list payments made from 1st January 2022.Please contact Gail in the office if you have any queries or would like to discuss payment options.
Although the year has just started we are already looking ahead to 2023 and sharing the good news about Catholic Schools. Our Social Media pages highlight lots of the Learning Experiences that happen at St Timothy's. Hopefully these can help spread the word about our wonderful school and community. We are open for enrolments for 2023, so please spread the news and invite families you might know with Pre School children to 'BOOK A TOUR' to see why St Timothy's is 'A GREAT PLACE TO BE!'
During Catholic Education Week we celebrate not only our wonderful school but all that our Catholic Schools and Parishes have to offer families.
On Monday each child was given a new RAPID ANTIGEN TEST kit. We ask that all children and staff complete the test twice a week. This request is in effort to keep children at school. Again, thank you for supporting us by testing your children.
We were notified yesterday that whilst QR coding will be stopped in schools as of today Friday 18th February, RAT testing (Rapid Antigen Testing) will continue throughout Term 1.
Seventh Sunday of Ordinary Time
Today’s readings invite and challenge us to live generous, kind-hearted lives of compassion, mercy and love.
In the First Reading, David, the future king of Israel, shows great magnanimity in sparing the life of his persecutor Saul. The dramatic
incident in the camp highlights David’s ingenuity and his sense of honour, and indicates that Saul’s days as king of Israel are numbered.
These events prepare us for today’s challenging Gospel, where we hear Jesus urging us to show forgiveness even to our enemies, and to be ‘compassionate as your Father is compassionate’. However, the last verses make it clear that the demands of the kingdom can only be understood in the light of our relationship with God.
St Paul teaches that though there is much of the ‘earthly Adam’ in all of us, our desire and yearning must be to live and love as did Jesus Christ – the ‘heavenly Adam’ (Second Reading). The Psalm is a song of praise and gratitude for the Lord’s own compassion and love.
Given our ‘earthbound’ nature, we are all too aware that we cannot live out the teachings of Jesus without
help! This week, I may like to pray for the grace to be open both to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and also to the life of the risen Lord working in, with and through me. We pray, too, that our sisters and brother everywhere may be open to God’s compassion and love.
