Principal's Report

Congratulations to our students, who continue to work very hard within their classrooms and also across the school in extracurricular activities, such as lunchtime and recess interest groups, which started this term. These activities have been very well-received by both students and staff, who have had the opportunity to interact with one another outside the classroom in a low-key, and enjoyable setting. Last Thursday, it was also a great pleasure to re-earth some Sorry Day messages, with our Aboriginal student leaders, Mrs Pass and Mrs Bundy. A bit of light work on the shovel for some of our students ensured that these messages were sealed and placed in the earth with due diligence and care, ready to be unearthed in 10 years; hopefully in a less soggy state than the ones we recently dug up. Thank you very much, again, to Mrs Bundy, Mrs Pass and our Aboriginal student leaders, who continue to show great pride in, and respect for, the First Nations people who came before us.

While on the subject of congratulations, I would also like to give a shout-out to our Stage 3 students, who represented our school at the sports gala day on Friday against Tuggerah Public School. The feedback from this day has mostly been highly positive and the students who attended and competed on this day should be very pleased for the way in which they conducted themselves. These students competed with great pride and enthusiasm and it was a great pleasure to receive some tremendous feedback from the Tuggerah staff, who asked that we convey their thanks to, and commend, our students for their efforts, sportsmanship and behaviour over the course of the day. Well done, Stage Three, you should be very proud of yourselves. Thanks to all of our staff who attended, supervised and even refereed on the day, it’s a pleasure to work with such dedicated people. This dedication was again on display on Thursday when we conducted our Athletics Carnival at Mingara. The students had a great day of competition, sportsmanship and enjoyment.

Netball Knockout

On Monday 30 May, our Netball team started their Knockout rounds playing 3 games at the Central Coast Indoor Sports Centre, Berkeley Vale. Impressive is a word that stands out when I think of how far this team has come in such a short time. The teamwork and sportsmanship displayed on the court was excellent and at times when composure was needed, they each showed resilience in an exceptional manner. We are excited to be moving on to Round 4 of the Knockout competition, after winning all our games. We are so proud of you all and the way you are representing your school.

2021 Parent Survey

At Wyong Public School, we value the feedback of our staff, students and community. Because 2021 was such a disruptive year for our students and families, we are seeking your opinion to help us plan for the future. We appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey and thank you for your honest opinion when providing feedback. When answering, please consider your child/ren's experience in 2021, NOT this year.If you have more than one child, or your children had different experiences to one other, you may complete a separate survey for each child. This survey will close at 6pm, Thursday 16th June.
