Intention to apply for Year 7 placement in a selective high school in 2022

Dear Parent/Carers,

Selective high schools cater for academically gifted students with high potential who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic standard. Selective high schools help these students to learn by grouping them with students of similar ability, and by using specialised teaching methods.

Applications for selective high school placement are considered mainly on the basis of the Selective High School Placement Test results and school assessment scores. The Selective High School Placement Test will be held on Thursday 11 March 2021.

If you would like to have your child considered for Year 7 selective high school entry in 2022, please see the attached file for detailed instructions on how to apply online.

Class Hat Competition

Week 10 winner - PUFFERFISH

This class will be rewarded for their great hat effort, with a fruit ice block from Mrs Loveridge.

To encourage sun safety, each class has been given a poster to record how many children are wearing their school hat each day. The numbers will be tallied at the end of each week, with a secret surprise for the class who has the highest number of children wearing their hats over the week - this includes teachers too!!!

So remember to find and pack a school hat everyday!

A new school hat can be ordered online from the uniform shop at anytime and will be delivered to your child's class.

Our school s participating in Fruit & Veg Month 2020. This year's theme is  'Planet Fruit & Veg', because eating more fruit and veg is good for us and the planet.

Hint of the week: Where possible, choose locally grown (e.g. grown in your city, town or region) and in season fruit and vegetables. They will taste better, be more nutritious, are more likely to cost less and will reduce the environmental impacts of food transport and cold storage. Take a look at this resource for tips on how to go local and in season.

Read the resource and answer the survey questions to go into the running for a $20 shopping voucher.

Did you know that NSW households waste 1/3 of the fresh food (such as fruit & veg) that they buy? Not only does this waste money, it also wastes all the resources it took to grow and produce that food. And rotting food in landfill produces greenhouse gases. This resource has helpful hints on how to reduce fruit and vegetable waste, save money and help the planet.

Read the resource and answer the survey questions to go into the running for a $20 shopping voucher.
