A PRAYER FOR OUR SCHOOL LEADERS

Dear God,

All authority is Yours,

but You have given authority to leaders to protect and guide us.

Today, we ask that You give all our school leaders wisdom, discernment, strength, and resolve.

Keep them healthy, safe, and rested so that they can continue to guide us and keep us safe.

Amen.

LEARNING AND TEACHING

SCHOOL CAMP

As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, the Log Cabin Camp was an outstanding success. Here are a few student reflections:

ELLIE S

Last Wednesday the Year 4s, 5’s and 6's went to Log Cabin Camp, Creswick. It was awesome, we all enjoyed it. Some of the activities were leap of faith, canoeing, photo find, milk crate stacking, flying fox and orienteering. My favourite was canoeing. We had to go in pairs and put life jackets on. It was very hard to stay up but we managed.

We also had amazing food like lasagna , wraps and baked potatoes. The cabins were also amazing. We also got to feed the ponies, goats and chickens. We also made damper and billy tea. Thank you to the teachers for a great camp.

JESSICA V

Heading out the door excited for a new adventure and meeting a wild person named Brayden, he was our instructor for the three days. He was very noisy but very funny.

After placing all the luggage and backpacks in our rooms we set off to our first adventure. The 1st group did flying fox and the 2nd Rec room/archery. I was in the 2nd group and did rec room/archery. The room was very impressive but a bit too boiling. Then we did flying fox. The area was really majestic and Sylvia and I jumped up the ladder and walked to the edge and jumped off. It was so much fun.

Next activity was clip n climb. We did it all together as one group, it was really hard to manoeuvre around because of the tight turns. The last activity of the day was canoeing. I paired up with Audrey for canoeing and of course we had to wear life jackets.

Once dinner came we washed our hands, collected dinner and had lasagna. It was delicious, exquisite and yummy.

One of the greatest days was the second day. We had toast and cereal for breakfast, the first activities were milk crate stacking and orienteering. I did milk crate stacking, where you have 4 people at the end pulling you, 2 people helpers helping you to stack the crates. The last activity was the dual zipline which was  an amazing experience. You could either throw a ball into a v shaped tree or just relax. We had a talent show which was very funny and I liked the belly dancers the most.

Next day we did hut building. Our hut didn’t really work but it was still fun. Lastly we did billy tea and damper. It was boiling sitting next to a fire. After a few minutes of cooking damper it turned out successful. We had lunch, said our goodbyes and went back home.

BAILEY M

3,2,1 zip I had just jumped off the dual zipline. There were eight different activities. My favourite activity was the leap of faith, we had to climb off a strong wooden ladder and do the squat and drop technique. Then we had to climb up to this wooden platform on these metal pegs, but there were so many ladybugs. Once I reached the platform I felt something pulling me. There were 6 people holding a tape attached to my heavy harness. I then jumped off the platform, as I was hanging I was in relief that I had jumped off. I was just glad that my heart rate wasn’t 129 like Mrs Smith. I will certainly never forget these 3 special and exciting days. Thank you.

IAN M

Twenty minutes ago I thought that we were lost but here we are at camp. We had arrived at the famous Log Cabin Camp. When we arrived we grabbed our bags and went into our rooms. I was in the same room as my friends. The rooms were great. My first activity was the Rec Room, that was surprising. I loved all the activities. The food was great!
