Spring Fair Newsletter- Special Edition

P&C Update

Thank you to everyone that volunteered, donated, sponsored and attended this year’s Spring Fair! We have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback about the event and loved hearing about the fun people had. Thank you to those that took the time to complete our feedback survey, which highlighted that everyone would like to see the Fair return and people felt it was well organised and enjoyable. For anyone that had great ideas on areas for future improvement, I would encourage you to get involved next year in the P&C and bring these ideas along.

*Please note there were several comments received about the lack of some of the bigger rides this year – this was due to the inability to use the top oval (e.g. not being able to put anything on the new synthetic field) and the unevenness of the bottom oval. This was outside of the control of the organisers and will be an ongoing issue for any future fairs.

I would personally like to thank the incredibly hardworking P&C Fund Raising Committee Members – Candice Le Marchant, Inger Roods, Ange Noon, Juley Pead Troy and Bron Noon - who selflessly gave up hours of their lives to ensure the day went smoothly and everyone had a great time. Organising and hosting a large community event such as the Fair, is only possible when there is a genuine commitment to community and teamwork. I would like to extend my appreciation to our amazing staff (including OOSH Staff), corporate sponsors and students who also played an invaluable role – thank you all!

We are enormously proud to announce the event raised  $28,724.26 for our great school. This was a fabulous result given the commitment to affordability – including a reduction from previous years on armband costs/reinstating the sibling discount.

$18,000 of these funds have already been utilised to purchase new phonics based, decodable home readers for the junior students. In addition, last week our loose parts play resources arrived are already being enjoyed by children at lunch time in The Mix; we continue with our plans for the senior nature playground and an upgrade to the school’s sickbay.

The current P&C remain committed to ensuring that all funds raised go directly back into the school in a timely way, and that every child, in every class benefit.
