Lismore South Public School Newsletter

Term 4 Weeks 9-10

Principal Message

Thank you to family and friends who attended many school events over the past fortnight, including our Art Show, Celebration of Achievement, Year 6 farewell and Preschool graduation. It has been such a pleasure to have you all back in our school celebrating the learning and achievements of your children. Students have also enjoyed a number of exciting end of year activities including visiting the Ballina Pool and Waterslides, Summerland Farm and PBL Rewards days. It has been fantastic to be able to end the school year on such a high note!

As we end 2022 we would like to formally farewell Mrs Denning, our teacher librarian. Think of how many hundreds of students she has helped with reading and a love of books over many, many years. On behalf of a grateful community, all the best for a wonderful retirement. We also wish to thank and farewell Miss Templeton and Ms Wise. They leave us as class teachers and will be moving on to new schools in 2023.

Despite all that we have endured this year we have come out at the end of 2022 still so incredibly hopeful and supportive of our school and community. I am so proud of all that we have managed to achieve throughout a very challenging year. On behalf of Lismore South PS staff, we wish everyone a safe, relaxing and enjoyable Christmas and New Year break.

Kind regards,

Larissa Polak

Leaders 2023

Congratulations to our new school leaders for 2023, Natasha and Orion (Captains) and Ariel and Ben (Vice- Captains).  We look forward to working with you in 2023. Many thanks to our 2022 school leaders Paza, Abigail, Tallen and Dakota, who have done a tremendous job this year representing the school.

School Security

If you see anything unusual at the school during the December/January holidays, please contact the School Security Unit on 1300 880 021 or (02) 9672 2000. During normal business hours the School Security Unit's Customer Service Team manages the incoming calls that are received on either of the above 2 phone numbers.

Outside of normal business hours, calls to either of those numbers are managed by the Unit's 24/7 Control Room which also monitors alarm activations from security systems throughout the state. Consequently, the School Security Unit can be contacted by phone 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Calls to 1300 88 00 21 are predominantly for after-hours security issues that require a response from a security guard.
