HAPPY WORLD TEACHERS DAY - Friday 30th October

From the Principal

Dear Parents & Caregivers,

It has been a busy start to the term with transition of our new Reception students on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s, year 6 and 7 graduation and transition to high school, end of year activities for our Reception to Year 7 students, planning for 2021 and report writing.

Bunnings Reynella have been extremely generous and have donated materials for some of our classes including a board, art materials and construction materials for T8 students art activities, board and paints for Children’s Week where Roslyn will work with some students to produce a painting to display in our school, materials for the garden group to construct a scarecrow with Lisa, a beautifully painted chair for T1’s classroom and some sports equipment which will be distributed amongst classes in the new year.

T12 will be participating in an online zoom session with Laura Hingston in the Olympics Unleashed Online program on Friday 30th October. Lauren has been working with groups of students at lunchtimes in Drama Club activities and due to COVID restrictions this year is filming the drama presentations this year.

Our work with Partnership continues to support our students as year 7 teacher’s work with year 8 teachers to look at relevant achievement data to inform teacher practice

Carly is being released to work with Yr 7 teachers from other sites, Numeracy Coach from APHS plus Yr 8 Maths teacher to look at relevant PAT M achievement data to inform teacher practice of students going to APHS. This will enable teachers to collegially determine particular content and pedagogy to respond to individual students’ needs. Carly Nash is being release over 4 sessions this term and early next year to focus on ‘How do we know that students have actually learnt it?

This term Luke James is teaching Campus Music on Tuesday and Thursday’s, Emma Webb is teaching T14 on Thursdays and Diane Christie is teaching a variety of our Junior Primary classes and supporting in our Reception transition program. Southern Heights District Athletic Carnival

On Tuesday, 13th October Campus students attended the Southern Heights District Athletic carnival. The carnival was held at the SA Athletics Stadium, we were blessed with beautiful weather and a lovely group of students. In total we had 66 students across the Campus who competed and represented their individual schools. Students demonstrated great sportsmanship and the Campus values while competing, spectating, and cheering for their fellow peers.

Campus students participated in their nominated events throughout the day, proving successful in both field and track events. We are currently waiting on results and selection information for students who will go on to represent Campus and the Southern Heights District team at the State Championship.

A big thank you to staff for their assistance on the day and a special mention to Mrs Henderson for her support leading up to the carnival and in the organisation for the school holiday training clinic.
