SUTTON PUBLIC SCHOOL

September 9th - Week 8

From the Principal

On behalf of the students and staff of Sutton Public School, I thank our Sutton Parent and Citizen’s Association for their wonderful financial donation to the school to support us refurbish our library shelving, cover team registration fees for the Boorowa Touch Football and Netball carnival and purchase our Father's Day craft resources.

The support of our P&C is greatly appreciated. Sutton Public School has a long and proud history of working closely with the school community and has appreciated strong support from an active and engaged P&C Association.

In addition to organising fundraising events – including the very successful Wamboin Fireworks dessert stall (thanks again to all those who provided baked goods and time serving on the stall) our P&C helps the school to run our special events such as the fabulous Father’s Day Breakfast.  Special events bring our community together and promote our school.

We are now actively planning to host a stall at the new Sutton County Markets (18th September) organise the parcel pick up station at the Murrumbateman Field Days (15th/16th October) and enjoy our day to celebrate 150 years of Sutton Public School (22nd October).  I encourage you to get involved with these activities. We need volunteers to bake, BBQ, and help on our stalls. You will find all the information you need below.

Mark your calendars.  Get involved. We have lots to look forward to!

P&C Events coming up - Can you help?

The P & C needs your help. We have these 2 great fundraiser events fast approaching and we need some volunteers to help us out. The markets are this side of the school holidays and Murrumbateman field days the first weekend once schools back.

Sutton Country Markets - 18th September

The P & C will be having a BBQ/cake stall at the markets on the 18th. It will be great to be a part of this new event in our own backyard.

How can you help?

We need volunteers on the day. These people will cook on the BBQ, sell cakes and answer questions about our 150th Anniversary event and general questions about the school. We also need volunteers that will do some baking and donate yummy goods.

If you can help, please add your name and contact detail in this google sheet:

Murrumbateman Field Days - 15th and 16th October

Each year the wonderful team at Murrumbateman Field Days provide an opportunity for all of us to go and buy lots of goodies for our properties while enjoying a great day out. For many years Sutton P & C has been offering a goods pick up service. The goodies are then delivered to the purchaser's car. The amazing Sophie D has been coordinating this event for a few years now. This year will be her last at the school.

How can you help?

Sophie and the P & C would love to see this event continue for many years to come. For this to happen we need a family that is willing to be a co-coordinator with Sophie this year and then take the reins next year.

We also need volunteers for both days to help out.
