Welcome to Term 2!

Let’s start Term 2 right by making every school day count!

Going to school every day gives your child every chance to learn and grow, and connect with their mates and teachers. It’s where bright futures start and where they’ll benefit the most.

When your child goes to school every day, it helps them to:

  • learn better
  • find interests
  • make friends
  • connect with teachers
  • be happier
  • have a brighter future.

We have lots in store for this term, including Cross Country, AFL in PE, Questacon, Growing Up Program, Biological Science units, Delta Dogs, Excursions and the continuation of our Breakfast Club – complete with twirly apples!

The Anything can happen website has further information for parents.

See what happens if your child misses just…..

1 day per fortnight

·         that equals 20 days per year

·         … and therefore, from Kindy to Year 12, that is nearly 1½ years of school.

·         This means the best they can achieve is equal to finishing Year 11

1 day a week

·         That equals 40 days per year

·         Which is 8 weeks per year

·         … and therefore, from Kindy to Year 12, that is nearly 2½ years of school.

·         This means the best they can achieve is equal to finishing Year 10

2 days a week

·         That equals 80 days per year

·         Which is 16 weeks per year

·         ….and therefore, from Kindy to Year 12, that is nearly 5 years of learning missed

·         This means the best they can achieve is equal to finishing Year 7

3 days a week

·         That equals 120 days per year

·         Which is 24 weeks per year

·         ….and therefore, from Kindy to Year 12, that is nearly 8 years of learning missed

·         This means the best they can achieve is equal to finishing year 6

If you’re struggling to get your child to school, help is available. Please talk to us at school about your situation. We’ll support you, in whatever way we can.

This term started off beautifully with many students and FPS families attending the Forth ANZAC Service on Tuesday. Well done and thank you to our Student Leaders, Dylan and Ryan, for their expert wreath laying skills, and Sabine and Freya, for their exceptional poetry reading.

In partnership,

Danica Holloway

Audiri is here!

Skoolbag has changed its name to  'Audiri', our new communication platform, is now available for all parent communications at Forth Primary School.

Audiri offers a range of upgraded features that will make it even easier for you to stay informed and connected with the school community.

To upgrade to Audiri, all you need to do is go to the App or Play Store and update your Skoolbag app.  Usernames and passwords all stay the same.

The new Audiri app will replace Skoolbag as your primary communication platform for Forth Primary School.

COVID

With us entering the winter months and the increased prevalence of COVID cases within the broader community, we will be sending home Rapid Antigen Tests (RATS) with students.   If your child has COVID symptoms, it is important that they stay home and are tested.  Please follow the link attached for the most up to date advice and information about managing COVID.

Please request additional COVID tests from the school office if required.

GASTRO

Viral gastroenteritis is highly infectious and spreads through contact with contaminated hands, objects or food. It can also be spread through coughing and sneezing. If your child has gastro, it is important to stay home and away from school until 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea.

SPORTING GUIDELINES

As many sporting teams have commenced rosters this year, we courage everyone to read through our Sporting Guidelines,  so that all students and parents are following the correct guidelines for our school.

UNIFORM REMINDER - INCORRECT UNIFORM

We are seeing a few items being worn at school which are NOT part of our FPS uniform,  specifically:

X   -   BLACK SOCKS  -  Socks should be WHITE or GREY

*     -   LONG SLEEVE TOPS UNDER DRESSES OR POLO TOPS  -  We have LONG SLEEVE POLO TOPS if students wish to wear long sleeves, otherwise they should have their FPS jacket on for warmth.

*   X    -   GREY STOCKINGS being worn with Summer Dresses and Skorts.  Stockings are for wearing with the Winter skirt/tunic.  We have trousers and tracksuit pants for added warmth if needed.

Our Entertainment Membership fundraiser is running all year.  Your membership starts when you join up and finishes a year later, unlike past years when it started on one date every year and finished a year later.

A great idea for gifts as they can be given at any time of the year.

Proceeds from this fundraiser go towards our Bi-Annual Year 5&6 camp.
